Recent findings: Reumofan Plus Side Effects

It seems too good to be true doesn’t it? The manufacturers claim that Reumofan Plus is a health supplement that promises long term pain relief without all the side effects. Half of that statement is true, the other half isn’t. Whilst you will be experiencing pain relief in the short term there is a whole manner of damage being done to your body as you ingest these pills. Horror stories have popped up all over the internet detailing the damage that people are doing, this article discusses some of the worst side effects so far that have been linked to Reumofan Plus use.

First I am going to discuss the ingredients that are known to be included in Reumofan Plus. The first ingredient that I wish to bring to your attention is that of ‘Glucosamine’, whilst this is not harmless as such it will cause an allergic reaction if you are sensitive to shell fish. Therefore avoid it if possible to take yourself away from the risk of harm.

The second ingredient known to be included in the pill is ‘Shark Cartilage’. This will cause a lot of Reumofan Plus Side effects. By ingesting this ingredients you will begin to have bad breath and feel nauseous as well as feeling tired a great deal of the time. Pregnant women should not under any circumstances ingest ‘Shark Cartilage’ as it will change your blood pressure dramatically.

Many people have discovered that one of the Reumofan Plus Side Effects is sharp weight increase. People have argued that there could be two reasons for this. Either there is an ingredient causing this increase or as you are in less pain you begin to accept food more which in turn causes you to put on weight. Therefore I suggest if you do attempt to take this pill that you make sure that you don’t suffer any intense weight gain, try to control your calorie intake in the same way as before.

More recent evidence has shown there to be a presence of a steroid called ‘Cortisone’ within the pill, which of course goes against the fact that it is claimed there are no non-natural ingredients within. If Cortisone is included in the pill then this is exactly what is doing the work rather than any natural ingredients.

You may think ‘So what? It’s helping so why stop taking it?’ well steroid abuse is a serious problem. Your body becomes addicted to them, in a hospital environment they would never allow you to take this amount of steroids over such a long period of time. If you suddenly quit Reumofan Plus either due to a lack of supply or other factors then you will feel incredibly sick. It is not possible to just instantly withdraw yourself from steroids. In fact it can be particularly dangerous for the older generation as sudden withdrawal can cause their whole body to shut down.

After taking these side effects into account it is up to you to make the final decision about whether you wish to take Reumofan Plus. Decide whether you will get more benefit from the short term pain relief as opposed to the long term side effects.

Manufacturer’s claims:

The Reumofan plus 100 Natural is one of the medical products known to treat joint and muscle related pains. Most of the product’s ingredients contain the Mexican hyperbola that is commonly found in countries like Cuba and India. These ingredients are effective in treating conditions such as rheumatic pains, arthritis, and pain in the shoulder, back, knee, gout and other parts of the body. Most importantly, it repairs and maintains various body tissues, treats osteoporosis, slipped disc and heel spur. Some of these benefits are attributed to some of the ingredients found in Reumofan plus 100 natural and some of these properties are:
a. Guasima, which is a plant native to Cuba and is a great ingredient in preventing hair loss and more so, its aids in contusions.
b. Cancerina is one of the best ingredients for anti-inflammatory effects as well as contusions.
c. The Holm oak which is a plant found in Mexico and known to have antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properties. This plant is also known to prevent cancer risks.
d. It has Glucosamine which is a key ingredient in the treatment of arthritis as well as assists in regeneration of cells owing to tissue damage.
e. It contains various minerals such as magnesium which is a natural relaxant or pain killer, calcium which is good for cardiac health.
f. It also has vitamins such as Vitamin C and E where vitamin C accelerates repair and maintenance of body tissues thus boosting the healing process while Vitamin E acts as an anti-oxidant which prevents free radical damage of the body tissues.
g. Reumofan Plus 100 natural has shark cartilage which is a powerful anti-inflammatory; it also inhibits growth of tumors, boosts the immune system and regulates angiogenesis.
h. The product also contains the eastern teaberry which is important in protecting the body from rheumatic pain or it is an analgesic for headache, goiter, and muscular pain and inflammation.
i. It also has the white willow which is a natural painkiller with anti-rheumatic properties.

Recent findings – Reumofan side effects

The manufacturers of this pill claim that there are absolutely no side effects to using this supplement, however people have been popping up throughout the internet and are claiming that there are many side effects to using the Reumofan Plus Pill.

There is one ingredient in the pill; Shark Cartilage that causes a great deal of side effects. This ingredient is known to cause bad breath as well as signs of nausea and tiredness. It is also not suitable for pregnant women as it can cause a sharp drop in blood pressure.

The pill also includes an ingredient called Glucosamine; this is normally found in shellfish. Therefore if you are allergic to shellfish then it is suggested that you steer well clear of the pill as it can cause a severe allergic reaction.
The ingredient within the package that seems to cause the most problems for people is ‘Cortisone’. This is not a natural ingredient but a steroid. Apparently it isn’t found in all times of Reumofan Plus Pills. Whilst it can help relieve pain ingestion of this steroid has a ton of undesirable side effects. Perhaps the least of your worries of these side effects is that you will have many sleepness nights.

Steroids are addictive for your body, and despite Reumofan Plus claiming that the pills are not addictive the steroids are. It will make you feel sick if you quit taking the steroids cold turkey as well as whilst being on them you will experience swelling and weight gain as well as extra hair growth. This is obviously quite undesirable.

There however is no general agreement between Reumofan Plus users that these symptoms always occur, which leads me to believe that this ingredient is not found in every single pill, which is what happens when a pill is marketed as a supplement as opposed to a pharmaceutical product as it is not up for the same quality checks as other pills on the market.
Many older people opt to take Reumofan Plus is order to negate the side effects of Oseoarthritis, however this is where the majority of problems start. Older people are particularly vulnerable to steroids which when they are taken off of them it can wreak havoc on their body including some very serious long term issues that as respiratory failure.
Always consult your GP before taking Reumofan Plus, if any of them have any sense they will not recommend that you take it due to the severe problems that it will cause you in the long run.

It is very obvious that Reumofan Plus Pills can help us in the short term, the evidence on the internet shows that. We should however long beyond the short term and become more worried about how Reumofan Plus Side Effects will affect us in the long run, if you have any knowledge of what steroids can do to you then you will have already decided that Reumofan Plus is not for you.

Eggshell membrane for arthritis and joint pain

A chicken egg (Gallus gallus domesticus)

People who believe in alternative medicine can try eggshell membrane for arthritis and joint pain. This is a common remedy for patients who suffer from arthritis and joint pain that has been transmitted from generation to generation. Today, medical professionals have also tested the calming properties of eggshell in two open-label human clinical studies, thus proving what the elders had already knew: natural ingredients have curing effects.

Patients with tissue disorders, joint pain and inflexibility in the arms and legs are advised to take natural eggshell membrane or NEM. This a dietary supplement that is 100% natural and contains special proteins which are very effective in keeping the connective tissues healthy. Doctors recommend that patients should take NEM supplements of 500 mg once a day until the pain goes away. Usually, the pain will be reduced in 7 says, but, for better results, specialists recommend an on-going treatment of 30 days. More traditional patients can also try the old alternative: they could mix 3 or 4 eggshells with some milk into a blender and drink the composition twice a day.

Eggshell membrane for arthritis and joint pain is especially good for old people who suffer from osteoarthritis, which is the most common form of arthritis. Because of the old age, the bones in the human body lose their flexibility and begin to move uncontrollably while hurting the muscles. Old people are given glucosamine and chondroitin as remedies for the pain, but studies have shown that old patients who also take natural eggshell extract show better results. The pain goes away, while their movements start to improve. Specialists recommend that eggshell supplements should be taken for about 60 days, once a day.

But how does eggshell membrane for arthritis and joint pain actually work? Specialists explained that the eggshell membrane is basically a connective tissue, thus it is very good in keeping the muscle tissue joint together. One of the key ingredients in eggshell is a cartilage that is naturally produced by the human body. The quantity of cartilage produced by the human organism drops with old age, that is why old people are more prone to such illnesses. Eggshell is also made of an amino sugar that is very effective in reducing inflammation and repairing damaged tissue. Usually, this amino acid is produced by the body, but, with old age, the organism loses the ability to produce it. Eggshell is recommended for joint pain and tissue pain because it contains all the ingredients that the body fails to produce once it ages. That is why eggshell membrane for arthritis and joint pain is a really reliable treatment.

Arthritis Cures

Though there are no formal arthritis cures, there are suggestions and remedies that your doctor and those with arthritis may recommend to help with your pain. These may include supplements, exercise activities, herbs and even medications that should be avoided.

More often than not, most people and doctors recommend a variety of things to help with your arthritic pains. Some things include lowering your life’s stress levels, yoga, massage therapies, avoiding very strong types of pain killers, eating only things that are healthy and avoiding junk foods, taking additional vitamin C, keeping mobile, avoiding most vegetable oils and eating olive oil and deep breathing. However, the most helpful means of dealing with the pain is what you eat. Though it may not work for everyone, it has been shown to have some influence in helping the body to heal. Such foods include:

  • Halibut, sardines, salmon and cod liver oil – omega-3 (under doctor’s supervision regarding medication you might be on as excessive amounts can cause bleeding and problems with blood clotting)
  • Vitamin D – bone builder

  • Vitamin A – anti-inflammatory

  • Fresh yellow and green vegetables

  • Beta carotene – helps with cell damage reduction

  • Grapefruit

  • Legumes, whole wheat, milk, wheat germ and oysters

  • Zinc – helps with boosting the immune system

  • Ginger

  • Hot peppers

  • Capsaicin – helps with inflammation reduction and pain

Eating these can help, but eat in moderation and as per your doctors instructions. Try to keep your weight down as the excess weight can put pressure on your joints and bones which only adds to the pain. You can eat many good foods, but you have to be careful about eating foods that are related to nightshade, such as peppers, potatoes, eggplants and tomatoes. Sometimes arthritis can be an allergic reaction to these, but the only way to know is to have formal testing done by an allergy specialist, something that you should suggest to your doctor as part of your treatment.

If anyone tells you that there are arthritic cures, be cautious. At present there are no known medical cures for it, but what they may be referring to instead is that some foods and other things might help relieve the pain and other symptoms of the disorder. Something that relieves it is not a cure, so speak to your doctor first before accepting anything as being a cure. Most importantly, if you suspect that you have arthritis, do not self-treat before getting a diagnosis to be sure that you really have it and not something else.

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Common signs and symptoms of systemic lupus er...

Image via Wikipedia

Systemic lupus erythematosus is one of the least understood and hardest to diagnose autoimmune diseases around. Though it might become chronic at some points, it can come and go at the will of your immune system with no apparent reason for being there in the first place, or may start as a result of potential triggers. It is not to be confused with the skin variety of lupus, and affects you internally, including all of your organs and any parts that are within you.

This type of lupus means that your body’s immune system fights off illnesses, diseases, infections and viruses, but forgets that once the job has been done, that it has to shut down and leave that now healed area alone. It continues attacking the area as if it was still affected, seeing everything and anything as the enemy, even an unborn fetus. It may even confuse healthy things with bad things, attacking healthy tissues and cells without any known reason, but it can result over the long-term in chronic inflammation of joints and tissues. At the very worst, this type of lupus may become severe enough that it might kill you.

Most sufferers are women, 9 times more than men, but it can start even in infancy, though most will get it between ages ten and fifty. Interestingly, though anyone can get it, those of Asian or African descent are at a higher risk than Caucasians. Sometimes it might even be associated with certain drugs, stress and even trauma, though even the potential of it being hereditary has not been ruled out by researchers, though its true cause is unknown.

Systemic lupus erythematosus includes a variety of symptoms, mild to severe, and not everyone will get them all and not everyone gets the skin rash that many doctors so often use as a basis for their diagnosis. Lupus can mimic almost all known diseases, syndromes and conditions, in a sense being the opposite of AIDS, though you cannot catch it and it is not contagious. Many people who have lupus begin with symptoms in one system or organ with swollen and painful joints developing into arthritis later. Usual symptoms include:

  • Chest pains when breathing deeply

  • Fatigue

  • Unexplained fevers

  • Generalized malaise

  • Uneasiness

  • Hair loss

  • Light sensitivity

  • Mouth sores

  • Skin rash

  • Lymph nodes that are swollen

  • Headaches

  • Eyes sight problems

  • Seizures

  • Stroke risks

  • Psychosis

  • Personality or mood changes

  • Leg or arm pain, tingling or numbness

  • Limited impairment of cognitive functions

There may be no cure for systemic lupus erythematosus at present, but research has been going on for decades. Treatments vary to treat the symptoms quite often, though radical medications have included such things as anti-malaria drugs and others. It all depends on the symptoms that a person gets and each person’s symptoms vary and their severity may change too. Regardless, for those of us who have been diagnosed with this disease, there is hope and it can be lived with.

Fibromyalgia

The location of the nine paired tender points ...

Image via Wikipedia

Fibromyalgia is a syndrome that is very common. It affects people in many different ways, including their soft tissues, tendons, muscles and joints, giving them discomfort in tender points and pain throughout their body. It has been associated with symptoms such as anxiety, depression, headaches, sleep issues and fatigue. But what causes it? What are the risks of getting it and how is it treated?

There are no definite or proven causes for fibromyalgia. However, some things can trigger of bouts of it, including:

  • Viruses

  • Infections

  • Sleeping issues

  • Brain development

  • Brain management of pain or reactions to pain

  • Emotional or physical traumas

Most commonly women between ages twenty and fifty can get it, more so than men, but men are still at risk. People who have been diagnosed with such things as Lyme disease, hypothyroidism, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic back pains, chronic neck pains and depression may in fact be suffering from this disease and not know it.

Quite often doctors may miss the signs of this disease because it is not as common as many others. However, in order for a doctor to make a proper diagnosis, patients are usually referred to rheumatology experts, who look to see if you have had any such symptoms for three months or longer and have pain that is not just isolated to one area of your body, but is widespread across your body. This includes tenderness and pain in a minimum of eleven to eighteen specific tender point areas, checking the muscles and tissues in and around the thighs, shoulders, rib cage, neck, lower back, knees, chest, buttocks, arms and elbows. They may run a series of tests, including x-rays to rule out any other potential conditions or diseases with very similar types of symptoms.

Fibromyalgia may be a life-long affliction that you have to suffer. However, doctors have a number of good treatments available. With constant monitoring, stress reduction, physical therapies, coping assistance programs, exercise, medications and referrals to pain clinics, the chances of managing the disease is possible in the majority of cases. If you have been diagnosed, know that you are not alone and research is edging one step closer each day to finding a cure.

Fibromyalgia Symptoms

Common signs and symptoms of fibromyalgia. (Se...

Image via Wikipedia

Fibromyalgia symptoms are far from pleasant and usually one of the most painful for many sufferers. Unlike other autoimmune diseases, they are easily confused with those associated with other diseases and might even mimic those seen in lupus patients. As such, if you have any of them, you should get your doctor to refer you to a rheumatologist to diagnose your formally, treat symptoms and prevent any further damage. Most importantly, if you are already getting the pain, you may need help managing that, too.

With fibromyalgia, most people have pain in specific tender points. These are found within the soft tissues to the rear of your knees, elbows, shins, hips, lower back, sternum, shoulders and/or neck. This pain can spread beyond these areas, ranging from very mild to very severe burning, shooting, gnawing, radiating and deep-aching sensations. You might wake up to feel stiff and your body filled with aches. Your pain may get better as the day proceeds and then worsen gradually as you get into the evenings. You might simply be in constant pain all day and all night long with no let up. In fact, the pain may appear to be radiating right from within your joints, but your joints are not swollen or red. When you are stressed, anxious or active or the weather is cold and damp, your pain get considerably worse.

Other fibromyalgia symptoms may affect some people and not others. You might have problems sleeping and feel fatigued all the time. You might be unable to get to sleep or even stay asleep. You may feel very tired when you have slept all night. Alternatively, you may get migraines, tension headaches, feel depressed or sad and/or have heart palpitations, feet and hand tingling and numbness, thought clarity issues, memory problems, constipation, diarrhea and IBS with gas (irritable bowel syndrome).

Though you may not get all of the symptoms and you may go for years unaware that you have fibromyalgia symptoms because they are so mild and/or you have developed coping mechanisms, eventually as you get older you might find them getting more difficult to manage or harder to cope with. Many people who have very active or responsible lives may find that their symptoms start to clash with their need to keep going and to get their work or chores done. Mothers may find that their ability to find energy to cope with kids is getting more difficult. Whatever the case, if you have these symptoms, have them checked out with your doctor.

Arthritis Surgery

Shoulder arthroscopy in progress.

Image via Wikipedia

Arthritis surgery is quite often used to treat rheumatoid arthritis when most other treatments have failed to relieve symptoms or bring back some normality in life for patients. Quite often the joints concerned are so deformed, so damaged and so immobile that they are no longer responding to regular physical therapy and medicines. One such surgery that many people are familiar with is hip replacement, but the reality is that this can be done for any joint in the human body. The overall success of the surgery really depends on the joint being replaced and the ability of the person to heal and adapt to the fake joint.

The main surgery types include:

  • Hand and finger surgeries

  • Arthroscopy or the removal of inflamed tissues and debris from the joint

  • Synovectomy or the removal of inflamed tissues within the joint only

  • Arthroplasty or the replacement of all or part of a joint in the knees or hips

  • Cervical spinal fusion or the surgical treatment of nerve issues and advanced and severe types of neck pains

  • Metatarsal head resection or the removal of deformed types of bones within your feet

Before you have surgery, there are many things to consider. Though surgery can restore your movement close to normal if you have only one or maybe two joints affected by osteoarthritis, but with people suffering rheumatoid arthritis, the results are far from the same. Most people will have many smaller joints involved, including ones in different parts of the body, so surgery is next to being impossibility. Replacement of joints can reduce or eliminate most joint pain, restoring sufficient mobility to let your live from day to day, but usually never gets the joint close to being completely normal. However, the best procedure in relation to rheumatoid arthritis is the carpal tunnel release resection which can be done in the knee, hip, foot or wrist.

Of course there are some medical risks that you take when having arthritis surgery. These include the potential of heart attacks, strokes, venous thromoembolisms, pneumonia, confusion increases and urinary tract infections. Other problems can occur during surgery with accidental shortenings, dislocations, instability of the joints, motion range complete loss, bone fractures, damaged nerves and blood vessel damage. Other risks include deep and superficial infections, on-going pain, weakness and indolent type infections. Over the long-term, you might experience component loosening, bonding break down and general wear and tear.

Arthritis Pain

What is arthritis pain really like? Well, if you have never had arthritis or you know someone who has it, the pain is not something that should be overlooked. There is nothing worse than having someone tell you that your pain is all in your head or it is not as bad as you think. Others may say that you should just suck it up, but what do they know, right?

As an arthritis sufferer, though I have never experienced the pain at its very worst, I know from experience that it can be as simple as a nagging ache or a burning in and around the joint. At other times the pain can spread beyond the joint, appearing as if it was coming from somewhere else. Then again, it may pulsate and continue all day without let up. However, the pain can sometimes be worse after not having any exercise or activities because the joints have become stiff and swollen, usually after sleeping, so in the morning it seems much worse, getting better as you move about during the day. By the evening, your joints may be screaming at your no end in the evening because you did too much activity. It really seems sometimes with arthritic pain that you cannot win either way.

The pain does vary according to the person and the severity and type of arthritis. The more damage that has been done to the joint, muscles, cartilage, tendons and ligaments, the stiffer the joint will become and subsequently the pain might be more severe because the joint is becoming less mobile. A friend of mine has arthritis in her fingers and hands, her joints so full of nodules and so damaged that they curl in the morning and get so stiff that it takes time uncurl them, a very painful process.

Though there are alternatives to pain medications and other arthritic treatments, the downfall of many of them is that make you drowsy. Many people are caught in a catch 22 whereby they have to have immediate pain relief to live a normal life, but cannot live normally because they are dozy and drowsy from the medicines. This is especially true with some prescription, high dose pain killers. But is the pain from arthritis manageable? Well, again this is dependent on the person because each person’s experience with the pain of arthritis is different and some people have higher pain thresholds than others. Put bluntly, arthritis pain is not pleasant and can be very painful.

Arthritis Medicine

There are a variety of non-brand name type arthritis medicine varieties that your doctor might recommend that you take to relieve your symptoms of arthritis and possibly prevent any further damage. These may be prescription grade, meaning that they are very high dosages of medications, some of which may have to be taken with great caution. However, regardless of whether or not you take a non-brand name, you should do so with advice given by your doctor because you may have allergies or other medical issues that prevent you from taking certain types.

These generic versions of many brand names can help deal with any swelling, stiffness or even pain. Such medications are mainly analgesic in nature, specified drugs that may be combined to suit your pain requirements. Some may be over the counter and others may be easily found on the shelves of your drug store. At the very worst, you may have to take a non-prescriptive version of codeine and acetaminophen, but only do this for a short time given the addictive and sometimes allergy or intolerant nature of codeine.

If your doctor does give you a prescription for brand name products, your pharmacist may help reduce your costs by offering a generic alternative. You may have to take extra precautions regardless and you pharmacist will supplement what your doctor has told you to do with information about side effects and the best way to take the medicines to avoid stomach upsets or other reactions. You pharmacist will also give you details about warning signs of overdoses and any dangerous side effects that you should look for that may need emergency treatment and the immediate stopping of the medication. Of course this depends on the person and as such that is why you should take nothing unless your doctor says so. Also, be wary as some of these medications may be addictive and might cause drowsiness. The generic versions include:

  • Ibuprofen

  • Naproxen or Naprosyn

  • Acetaminophen and propoxyphene

  • Propoxyphene

  • Acetaminophen and oxycodone

  • Oxycodone

  • Ketoprofen

  • Codeine

Whatever your doctor suggests, quite often there is also an equivalent generic or non-brand name arthritis medicine that you can take instead, which merely means that you are not paying extra for the packaging or the right to buy a product that is made by a top company. Though many of the products are produced by the same company that produces the brand names, they are merely offering an inexpensive version without all the attractive appearing packages and containers.

Arthritis Medication

There are numerous brands of arthritis medication that doctors recommend to relieve arthritic symptoms and prevent arthritic damage. Many have to be prescribed and are tailored to suit the needs of the individual using them. However, none of them should be taken without a prescription and without your doctor’s advice as some may not be suitable if you have other underlying medical problems, conditions or diseases.

Most of the medications your doctor might give you for arthritis are to help with the pain, stiffness and swelling. Pain relieving medications for arthritis are analgesics, specific medications that are sometimes combined with others to make pain more manageable. Some lesser versions of this might be recommended by your doctor to avoid over-medicating and dealing with minor pain, including ibuprofen, acetaminophen and aspirin. Some people might find that acetaminophen and codeine also helps not only with pain that is very bad, but not bad enough for the doctor to prescribe more potent pain killers. It reduces swelling and also gets rid of the pain quickly. However, that particular combination can only be bought over the counter through a pharmacist and if you use it, you must follow the instructions carefully given the codeine content. In fact, if you are to use them, speak to your doctor first as some people cannot stomach or are allergic to codeine.

Alternatively your doctor may prescribe you one of many name brand medications for your arthritis. These might include prescription dose levels of codeine, propoxyphene, oxycodene and others. However, a word of caution about these, including using the over the counter acetaminophen and codeine is that they can be addictive, so only use them according to the instructions given by your doctor and only for as long as your doctor recommends. Be warned that they also may have side effects and you might get drowsy from using them, so you might be inhibited from driving or operating machinery during the time that you use them. These include the following brands:

  • Nuprin

  • Medipren

  • Motrin

  • Advil

  • Aspirin

  • Edorin

  • Darvon

  • Wygesic

  • Darvocel

  • Tylenol with Codeine

  • Tylenol 2

  • Tylenol 3

  • Tylenol 4

  • Empirin 2

  • Empirin 3

  • Empirin 4

  • Aleve

  • Anaprox

  • Naprelan

  • Naprosyn or Naproxen

  • Oruvail

  • Orudis

  • Roxicodone

  • Oxycontin

  • Tylox

Arthritis in Knees

Arthritis in knees or arthritis of the knees consists of three varieties of arthritis, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid and post-traumatic. Each one has a different effect on your knee joints, some of which are more damaging than others.

Osteoarthritis is the first type that might cause the arthritis in your knees. Also known as OA, this arthritis is the most common type to affect the knees, usually progressing very slowly, degenerating the joint’s cartilage, wearing it away. Usually this happens to people in their middle age to old age. The rheumatoid variety or RA, cause the inflammation of the cartilage in the knee joint, but can affect both of your knees at the same time and might happen at any stage or age of life. The third variety, post-traumatic happens if your knee has been injured at any time, closely mimicking osteoarthritis, developing many years after a meniscus tear, ligament injury or fracture has occurred.

The symptoms associated with arthritis of the knees are a gradual onset of pain within and around the joint, though rare, a sudden type of onset can happen as well. You may begin to notice your knees becoming swollen and stiff, making it hard to straighten them or bend them. In the morning, the swelling and pain may get worse, especially after doing no activities for awhile. It might increase in intensity after you exercise, especially after kneeling, climbing stairs or walking. You might find your knees buckling or locking, getting a sense of weakness in your knees before this happens. The level of pain may also be affected by the weather, including air temperature, barometric pressure changes and the level of humidity or damp.

If you suspect this type of arthritis, you should get your doctor to do a series of examinations and tests. The doctor will do a physical first, focussing on your walking, limb mobility and whether or not there is any tenderness or swelling within your knee joints. You doctor may order x-rays to see if there has been a reduction in the joint space of the knees that are affected. You may get MRI or magnetic resonance imaging and blood tests done to see if the arthritis is rheumatoid. The doctor will make a final decision about your treatment based on those findings, which may include surgical or non-surgical treatments, including some lifestyle type modifications.

Arthritis in Hands

A hand effected by rheumatoid arthritis.

Image via Wikipedia

Arthritis in hands or hands arthritis is known also as MP joint arthritis. It affects the larger joints within your hands literally at the bottom of each finger and your thumb where they meet with the hand. These are very important joints which allow you to pinch and use a power grip, acting like hinges. However, this type of arthritis is very rare in comparison to arthritis in the other joints of the fingers and thumbs.

Arthritis in the hands is quite often rheumatoid, where the synovium or joint lining produces factors in the form of chemicals which cause the destructive inflammation of tendons, ligaments, other soft tissues and cartilage. The resulting situation is that your joint surfaces are completely destroyed, forcing your fingers into what is known as an ulnar-deviated type position, whereby the begin to point towards your smallest finger. However, under other conditions, though rare, this arthritis can cause the complete loss of motion, deformities and extreme pain. Anyone who has injured the joints in these areas will gradually experience a lessening of the presence of cartilage around those joints, known as post-traumatic arthritis whereby the joints gradually become more stiff and progressively more painful. Other factors can include osteoarthritis of the middle, index and thumb digits.

So, how is this arthritis treated? If the arthritis is rheumatoid, doctors will give out medicines that cover the pain and reduce the destructive damage being done with cortisone injections into the affected joints. If the arthritis is trauma related, splints, variations in activities and anti-inflammatory medicines will be given. If the arthritis is the progressive type, and it is severe enough, surgery may be recommended. If the joint surface has been sufficiently destroyed through rheumatoid arthritis, some patients are treated using synovectomies, whereby the synovium is taken out and the tendons and ligaments are re-aligned and/or tightened to help with better function and to prevent the destruction process of what is left of your cartilage. If the destruction of your joints is so extreme and severe, some people get joint replacements or have their joints fused. Many joints function reasonably well after this, but joint replacements are preferred in preference to fusing because some joints become completely disabled and lose complete mobility.

Arthritis in Fingers

Image via Wikipedia

Arthritis in fingers occurs where the bones of your fingers meet at your joints. The problem is that it damages your joints on their surfaces, which are normally smooth to allow fluid motion to take place. The surface is made of cartilage which when damaged in any way can prevent the normal motion of the joint and create stiffness, deformities, swelling and pain within that joint.

Two varieties of arthritis in fingers exist, including rheumatoid and osteoarthritis. Rheumatoid is known as a systemic type of disease that causes the soft tissues around your finger joints to swell or inflame, most often affecting the finger joints at the knuckles, known as the MCP joints. Osteoarthritis causes abnormal wear and tear on your joints, wearing away your cartilage and causing the bones that meet at the joints to be exposed. Quite often the finger joints affected include the fingertip and mid-finger joints, as well as the thumb base joint.

Finger arthritis has some symptoms that you may or may not be aware of. These include mobility loss, stiffness, swelling and joint pain. If you get the osteoarthritis variety you may develop nodules or lumps around your finger knuckles, known as Heberden’s nodes, Bouchard’s nodes and bone spurs. The Heberden variety are furthest from the knuckle and the Bouchard type are closer to the knuckle. Bone spurs literally grow around your joints. Quite often the knuckles become so stiff, swollen and painful that people who wear rings complain that they either cannot be removed or don’t fit.

So, how is finger arthritis treated? Like many types of arthritis, arthritis in fingers can be treated using two major types of treatments, though surgery is a third option that is rarely recommended. These include anti-inflammatory medicines and joint supplements. The anti-inflammatory medicines treat your pain, helping to decrease any inflammation and/or swelling around your finger joints. The joint supplements contain chondroitin and glucosamine which are the main ingredients the body uses to build normal cartilage around your joints. These are quite often used for treating many types of osteoarthritis. However, at present there is no known way of curing or preventing finger arthritis, just treating the symptoms.

Arthritis Diet

Image via Wikipedia

If you have reading a lot about arthritis, being an arthritis sufferer, you may have discovered that there is in fact an arthritis diet. In fact, this diet has been around for many decades and is just an extension of the recommendations given by so many doctors and rheumatologists. So, what is involved in this diet? Will it work for you? Firstly, note this – you are an individual and what works for someone else might not be right for you, so that is why you need to discuss this first with your doctor.

The arthritis diet has a comprehensive food list with recommendations of things that have to be avoided. Research has shown that some people may have allergies to some types of foods that could act as triggers to arthritic type pain in your joints. In some cases, if you eliminate those foods and stick with the arthritis diet, the chances are that you pain from the arthritis may be reduced or even eliminated. However, the results are by no means guaranteed.

You should begin with discussing the full diet with your doctor and a dietician. You may not have cause to eliminate any foods, but you also might have to restrict yourself with some. Usually this is done by a process of elimination, though there are foods that are related to the nightshade that are more likely to cause you allergic problems. Regardless, what many doctors do is to have you remove each food one by one and then put them back into your diet to see which ones might be an issue. This of course happens over a few weeks and might show significant results or no results at all. Foods to be avoided include:

  • Pork

  • Lamb

  • Beef

  • Red peppers

  • Eggplants

  • White potatoes

  • Tomatoes

  • Waxy fruit

  • Dairy products

  • Sugar and related sugar foods

  • White wheat bran and flour

  • Starches

  • Dry roasted type nuts

  • Alcohol

  • Caffeinated drinks

  • Vinegar

  • Pepper

The arthritis diet works for some people and might help you with arthritis related pain. Though not fool-proof, the diet has some suggested restrictions, though those foods to avoid might not necessarily cause problems for you. As such, this is a good diet for pain prevention, but only when done with medical supervision and advice.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Image via Wikipedia

Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease that most people live for their entire lives. It causes inflammation around the tissues near and within your joints, as well as the joints themselves. It can in some cases even affect some of your other bodily organs, but what causes it is not known and as such it is one of the many types of autoimmune diseases.

This arthritis works by affecting the normal process that your body undergoes when fighting off any foreign things like viruses and bacteria. Normally, your body would do this without any issues, but if you have this arthritis, you immune system is unable to define the difference between tissues that are diseased or infected and healthy tissues. In essence, if you have this type of arthritis, your body is literally attacking itself – you!

Do not be led to believe that only old people get this because anyone at any age and of any gender can get it. Though most of the patients with this are women, men can get it too. Quite often it attacks both sides of your body with equal fervour. The most common areas to get it in include your ankles, feet, knees, fingers and wrists, but how severe your symptoms will be will depend on your body. Researchers are looking into the potential of issues caused by your hormones, genes and infections, though nothing concrete has been established.

If you get rheumatoid arthritis, joint pain is not the first thing that you will get. In fact, many patients start with one symptom or a few of the following:

  • General body weakness

  • Swollen glands

  • Minimal fevers

  • Appetite loss

  • Fatigue

Thereafter, people start feeling pain, stiffness in the morning and warm, tender and swollen joints. These may go on for up to an hour, being felt in joints usually on both your left and right side. Your neck, jaw, toes, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists and fingers may hurt. As time goes on, you may find your joints becoming deformed or feeling spongy, with your joints undergoing destruction within one or two years after you start getting your first symptoms. You might even get pleurisy chest pains, itchy/burning/discharging eyes, nodules forming under your skin (severe), and burning, tingling and numbness in your feet and hands. So, if you are getting these symptoms, see your doctor as soon as possible because you need to deal with your symptoms, delay the damage being done and prevent any damage from happening in the future.

Mexican Herbal Remedies – What are Cancerina and Matarique?

With so many miraculous herbs available on the market promising all sorts of remedies, you are probably wondering what are cancerina and matarique, the two ingredients mentioned in so many products.

The most simple answer to the question what are cancerina and matarique is that they are Mexican plants with hypoglycemic effects. Due to their many properties they are used in the treatment of several conditions, including arthritis or diabetes. Cancerina has powerful anti-inflammatory properties, while matarique is used in treating diabetes, rheumatism, neuralgia, constipation, and it also helps the production of scar tissue.

Cancerina, widely known as Mexican Heather or Fake Heather, is native to Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. While it is commonly used in landscaping and home gardening for ornamental purposes, cancerina has great medicinal properties. Various oils and serums of the plant have been used as early as the 12th century to prevent organ stones, treat fever and consumption, cure various infections (particularly eye infections) and even to treat poisonous bites and stings. In our day and age, Mexican Heather is used for treating fatigue, indigestion, wounds, muscle pain, bruises, and dysentery, among others. It is even said to help cure infertility.

The herbaceous plant called Matarique grows in Chihuahua, Sonora and southern Arizona. It is a widely used herb due to its amazing healing properties and it is greatly valued in the herbal markets. The Tarahumara, for instance, grind a bundle of Matarique roots and prepare a tea serving as a drastic purgative. They also drink it to treat a cold, or pound and boil the tuberous roots for washing wounds. Others brew the leaves to drink for a sore throat or use it for cleaning sores. For the Tepehuan, Matarique roots tea serves as a treatment for rheumatism. Nowadays, Mexicans and Mexican Americans use Matarique roots for treating diabetes and various problems of the kidneys, liver and pancreas.

What are cancerina and matarique for the pharmaceutical market? Real gold mines. With thorough studies and trials, several treatments have been developed for various conditions, and both cancerina and matarique play an important part in such treatments. Still, no matter how great medicinal herbs or herb supplements may be, do not self medicate without consulting a health professional. Self diagnosis and self-medication can do more harm than good, so make sure to consult your physician before trying out any wonder treatment. Ask him to explain what are cancerina and matarique and whether such treatments are appropriate for you.

Prolozone therapy procedures and prolozone therapy reviews.

Prolozone is a technique of regenerating body material. Prolozone has been derived from the word “proli”, which is in Latin and means regeneration. The most active state of oxygen is Ozone. The power and strength of Ozone is the main factor that is put to work while treating damaged tissues, ligaments, tendons and joints. This heals the pain completely and also rebuilds the damage in the body. Prolozone therapy has been on the go for quite a while now and people are appreciating and acknowledging the procedure. Prolozone therapy reviews have been ecstatic and the testimonials prove that patients are highly satisfied with the results.

There are certain cases where the Prolozone therapy works wonderfully. At some point it might not be able to rejuvenate the body parts completely. By this, it is understood that the healing process is absolutely dependant on the circulation process. The regeneration process needs certain critical elements for healing. Vitamins and Minerals are absolutely essential. One other ingredient is Oxygen. These elements are very important and are only provided in the presence of ample blood circulation. Prolozone therapy reviews have revealed that Oxygen is the most important element required in this process. If the body suffers a deficit of oxygen, it gradually accumulates lactic acid. Lactic acid is the material that causes the pain.

Prolozone therapy reviews say that it has a systematic approach in its working principle. A local anaesthesia is applied at the area of damage. This is done to reduce the pain and swelling that affect the injured area. This increases the circulation rapidly and helps stimulate the procedure at a vibrant pace. After this, the damaged area is struck with vitamins and efficient minerals. This is done to start the healing process. The nutrients help in effective rejuvenation. Finally, the damaged area is treated with oxygen or ozone. This helps tissues to receive all vigour that it needs to revive. This revives the circulation in the damaged area and completes the healing process.

Prolozone therapy reviews by the medical experts say that almost every type of pain problem can be cured by this process. If you have a perceiving neck pain or pain in the lower back, this therapy can be the best for you. Moreover, wonderful effects have been found on people with plantar fasciitis, torn tendons, tennis elbow, sciatica, carpel-tunnel syndrome, knee injuries and almost every other sports injury. This therapy also works well in severe arthritis due to its cartilage regeneration properties. This therapy is not just a temporary session but a permanent fixture. You will also have to follow some precautionary measures, because anti-inflammatory and steroid measures, if opted simultaneously with this therapy, may have side-effects. All you need is an MRI, as this report will enable your doctor to decide if your body is capable of sustaining a prolozone therapy or not.

Reumofan Plus Contraindicaciones

Image via Wikipedia

Species: Quercus ilex Family: Fagaceae Image No. 1

Image via Wikipedia

Manufacturer’s claims: What is Inside a Reumofan Plus Tablet?

Reumofan Plus is a tablet or medicine that is proven to be an effective treatment to rheumatism, arthritis, and body pains especially in the knee, back, shoulder, wrist, and elbow. It is also an effective cure for tendonitis, osteoporosis, and neuralgia. This tablet was also said to make one feel an energy level increase. This is a 100% natural medicine with ingredients found in Mexican countries and herbalary like Sweden and Cuba.

Each tablet of Reumofan contains Holm Oak, a plant found in Durango Mexico which has both antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properties and is also believed to have cancer preventive properties; Cancerina or Calluna vulgaris in its botanical name which also has anti-inflammatory contusions, and Shark Cartilage which helps stimulate the immune system, regulates angiogenises, and inhibit growth of tumor. This medicine also has Glucosamine, an amino sugar and well-known precursor in the biochemical amalgamation of glycosylated proteins and lipid. This glucosamine helps aid tissue damages, fights and prevents osteoporosis and is useful against arthritis. The list of Reumofan Plus ingredients also contains Vitamin C, which helps speedy cure for wounds and overall maintenance with the collagen it produces; magnesium that is considered a natural relaxant, and calcium that helps control the cardiac rhythm.
Aside from the seven components mentioned above that this medicine have, it has more to offer. Since this is an herbal product, most of its components come directly from nature. They are processed by a machine to strain the nutrients and then combined into one to have this effective and all-natural pill as a result. Reumofan Plus also has Gausima, a plant found in Cuba which helps avoid hair loss; Eastern Teaberry which is often used against rheumatic pain, muscular pain, arthritis, headaches, neuralgia, and is used as a laxative and diuretic as well. it also has Matarique which a plant originally used by Tarahumaras to treat diabetes, constipation, and production of scar tissues; and White Willow which is also called and considered a natural aspirin. The said pill also contains Curcumin, a plant and a member of the ginger family that is found in India which has excellent anti-inflammatory properties and good at fighting arthritis and Vitamin E or tocopherol which is a strong antioxidant.
There have been many good feedbacks this natural herbal medicine has received. It was said to show results in as early as 10 days of continued use. Some also said that because this is a natural medicine there have been less and close to none side effects. The combination of ingredients of this medicine is undeniably awesome as what its users often say. Truly, Reumofan Plus is a great cure to many aching bodies.

Recent findings – Reumofan Plus Side Effects
Imagine not being able to move due to the amount of pain being caused by your joints. Whilst you are taking your prescribed medicine it seems to be waning in terms of the effect it once had on your body. All you can rely on now are standard painkillers that are probably doing untold damage to your liver and stomach. You frantically search the internet and find a product called Reumofan Plus which claims that it can help reduce your pain whilst having next to no side effects. Despite glowing testimonials you remain fairly dubious about the whole thing, this is what has led you to this article, or perhaps you are already experiencing Reumofan Plus Side effects. It doesn’t matter what your reason for being here this article is going to discuss some of the most widely known side effects from this pill, things that the manufacturer never even tells you about.

Reumofan Plus claims that it is made from all natural ingredients and therefore these are the first ones I shall discuss. The first ingredient I shall bring to your attention is ‘Shark Cartilage’ which is known to cause bad breath as well as nausea. If you ever feel sick after taking Reumofan Plus then it is down to this ingredient. There is also an ingredient inside the pill which makes it unsuitable for those that are allergic to shellfish.
Many people have noticed a stark increase in their weight once they take these pills. The cause is as of yet undetermined. It could be down to the psychological effect of being in less pain and therefore eating more or be caused by an ingredient within the pill.
One ingredient that has come to light recently is a steroid called ‘Cortisone’. Lab reports indicate that this is not in every batch of Reumofan Plus sold, so it does seem to depend on the manufacturer of the pills. What is known however that if you take steroids there are a whole array of side effects that you may experience.

Many people have claimed that after taking Reumofan Plus they have experienced ‘restless nights’ as well as hair growing back thicker. These are probably some of the mildest side effects of steroid use and if this is all you encounter you are very lucky.

Whilst the manufacturers claim that Reumofan Plus is non-addictive if it includes ‘Cortisone’ it makes it much more difficult to quit. This is because your body relies on the ‘Cortisone’ to function, and if this is suddenly snatched away the body begins to crash. You need to wean yourself off this slowly. This can be particularly problematic as it seems not all reumofan plus contains this steroid, and therefore you will always run the risk of crashing.

It has been shown that these supplements can help us in the short term; however it should be the long term effects that we should be looking at and deciding whether the Reumofan Plus Side effects are worth all the nausea, sickness and addiction to the pills.

Reumofan Plus REVIEWS:  is a natural pain remedy that is popular for helping aches associated with arthritis. ese ingredients promote bone health, but how they work to help pain associated with arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout and muscular pains is not certain. It’s being touted by supporters as a miracle medication from Mexico, though any so-called miracle product should be taken with caution.

The user is advised to take Reumofan Plus in intervals of one tablet every twelve hours when in severe pain, then one tablet daily for maintenance for a week to a month once feeling better. This product promises users to immediately eliminate their pain and to keep them energized, though with only herbal ingredients, this claim is skeptical because most NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs i.e. Asprin, Ibuprofen, and Advil) can’t even instantly remove pain. They usually take about 30 minutes and usually relief lasts for eight to twelve hours. Since this is an herbal product geared toward arthritis sufferers, there aren’t really any other products on the market to compare it to.

According to studies done on this product, it has no side effects to the user (it is important to note that this claim is not substantiated by the FDA, since they don’t commonly evaluate herbal or homeopathic remedies). There is a warning about possible adverse reactions for users who might be taking blood thinners such as Coumadin or Warfarin Sodium.  Although Reumofan Plus lists no common side effects, some users have reported a rise in blood pressure, tightness of the chest, and speeding pulse. For safety reasons, users are recommended to see their physicians before beginning usage as it may have a strange interaction with current medications.

Most users seem genuinely pleased with the product, reporting a decrease or complete disappearance of joint and muscular pain when taken as recommended. Reumofan Plus is only available online and is currently not available in whole food stores or other local sources.  The biggest warning, as with any medication sold only online from another country, is to talk to a doctor prior to trying it.

Despite the lack of more substantial information on this homeopathic remedy, Reumofan Plus seems to be a safe and effective alternative to harsher prescription medications like Tramadol.

Reumosan review

Following a recent Reumosan review, it showed that there are many rheuma treatments available for people suffering from this condition. Prescription drug therapy is well thought-out to be the average treatment for rheuma. In the early stages physicians may recommend non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, followed by stronger anti-rheumatic drugs as the disease advances.

Many medications which are recommended for rheuma treatment can in nearly all cases come with a number of side effects which may have an effect on a number of people differently. However, the reumosan review showed that not all treatment methods need harsh medications which could in turn cause side effects to the patients. This in the largest part is good news to people suffering with rheuma, while the number of treatment methods for people suffering from rheuma increases yearly.

In most cases patients opt to manage their disease through gentle exercise, physical and diet. They may also go for herbal and nutritional supplements or getting acupressure and acupuncture treatments or a combination of all the above. Even though there are practitioners who may not recommend such measures, there have been stories of patients who have benefited from using these methods. The reumosan review also showed that some patients are uncomfortable with taking drugs daily throughout their life, and thus they opt to forego therapy and settle for alternative treatment like the ones mentioned above.

The reumosan review however states that early intervention of the disease is vital to evade disfigurement and permanent joint damage. This fact calls for serious consideration when choosing the right treatment plan. So the best option is to follow your doctor’s recommendations then combine them with traditional methods while under your doctor’s supervision. By this you will avoid irreversible damages to the joint tissue. This is however unlikely because of the pain they undergo during flare-ups.

The reumosan review also dictates that the kind of rheuma treatment you choose should be supervised by a capable professional who is well aware of your unique symptoms. Considering this is a disease that affects people in diverse ways. For some it may fall down under a meticulous drug therapy or treatment, while other patients may get little or no relief whatsoever from the same method. In addition, a number of symptoms people with rheuma go through are the same; the concentration of these symptoms will differ in different people.

The reumosan review should that it is vital for you to work hand in hand with your physician in order to come up with the best rheuma treatment for you, which would be based on your distinctive condition and your liking for treatment.

Shoulder Arthroscopy

The Benefits of Shoulder Arthroscopy as a Diagnostic and Operative Procedure

Shoulder arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows doctors to properly diagnose and correct shoulder conditions. Through an endoscope entered through a half to one centimetre incision on the shoulder, the doctor can assess a patient’s shoulder joint via pictures and video. Arthroscopy was a procedure that was initially done only on a patient’s knee. It is through the development of fiberoptic technology that surgeons were able to apply the procedure to the shoulder area.

Aside from aiding in the diagnosis, a shoulder arthroscopy may also be done as an operative procedure. The patient may be put under regional or general anaesthesia while undertaking the operation. A different endoscopic instrument, camera, and fiberoptic light are then used for the procedure. The patient is usually operated on lying in a beach chair position or on his side.

Although most doctors are aided by digital imagery provided by CT scans and MRIs, a shoulder arthroscopy is a better option in diagnosing shoulder joint problems because it is able to provide imagery for fine damaged structures that MRIs and CT scans usually overlook.

Most shoulder joint problems manifest pain during movement. Because MRIs and CT scans require patients to stay in a resting position, the origin of pain is harder to pinpoint. A shoulder arthroscopy is therefore the better option for diagnosing dynamic problems.

Unlike other procedures that patients undergo for proper diagnosis, a shoulder arthroscopy combines diagnosis and therapy in one sitting. In less than eight minutes, a patient’s condition can be appraised by a doctor and an operative procedure to correct the problem can already follow. This kind of operation usually takes anywhere between twenty minutes to an hour. This is beneficial for the patient as the burden of having separate procedures for diagnosis and treatment is lifted. The use of small incisions as opposed to traditional large ones also make the time for recovery shorter and at the same time minimizes the risks that come with surgery.
Shoulder arthroscopy is usually performed in patients suffering from shoulder dislocations and instabilities as a result of trauma. Calcific tendinitis, rotator cuff tears, and impingement syndrome are some of the other conditions that the procedure effectively diagnoses and treats. Although this procedure has been proven to be a very effective treatment, patients must remember that it must be performed by highly skilled surgeons that have received proper training and have had lots of experience.

Yoga for Arthritis

Yoga Class at a Gym

Does yoga for arthritis work? Is it just a modern fad to get people to start enjoying yoga? The reality is that yoga has been clinically proven to work for arthritic patients, undoing the stiffness, reducing inflammation and helping to prevent pain. It enables sufferers to build up the strength around their joints in their muscles to better support their own weight on damaged joints. Best of all, though forty percent of many Americans between ages forty-five to sixty-four suffer from arthritis, the majority of people are doing yoga as a normal thing, just as aerobics was back in the 1980s. As such, going to yoga is not a big deal, even if you have arthritis, partially because it has a five thousand year history of proven results. What more could you ask for?

Putting aside the fallacies about arthritis being an old person’s condition, yoga can be done by anyone of any age, but for those with arthritis, it greatly enhances a person’s life and physique in a safe and easy environment. People can strengthen their joints and even make their joints function better. Most importantly, yoga uses balance and that assists in regulating uric acid levels within your body. You can even reduce your weight and combat obesity to further improve your arthritis.

Yoga for arthritis consists of basic movements and positions, called asanas, which are done one by one and advanced on in more advanced levels of yoga when a person is good and ready. These asanas include:

  • Sukhasana or the easy pose – used for classic types of meditation, it assists in straightening your spine, keeping the mind rested, slowing down your metabolism and promoting your inner Zen
  • Single leg type raises – these are shoulder stretches which are helpful in relieving tension and stress on the shoulders, upper back and abdomen, where one leg is lifted off the ground whilst the other remains on the ground

  • Shoulder stretching – help remove shoulder tensions and stress when done every day for 3 weeks

  • Neck stretches – removes neck joint stiffness, corrects the posture, removes headaches from stress or pain and generally increases the muscle tone, joint flexibility and tensions associated with arthritis

  • Side stretch standing pose – forms 2 areas of radiating energy, where your stretch the arms and belly, extending joints from your back to your legs

  • Clenched hands – quite often osteoarthritis and other arthritis varieties can attack the joints in the wrists and the hands, but this one keep them working, creating better flexibility and better mobility

  • Bended wrists – as mentioned before wrists can be damaged or suffer from arthritis, including rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, but by bending and stretching them through yoga, the wrist motion, flexibility and strength improves dramatically

  • Final corpse – benefits the entire body and joints by relaxing it, a good pose after stretches and bends

  • Bended ankles – after years of damage, strain and the like, arthritis can set in the ankles, but this helps you to keep the ankles in reasonably good condition, whilst keeping them flexible and strong

  • Rotating ankles – tendons can be strained, torn and damaged, affecting your muscles and joints, eventually leading to arthritis, but this pose keeps them flexible and the healing process on-going

  • Pose for relaxation – after every yoga session, relaxation and gentle stretching of the body to wind down is important and as such this one allows the joints, muscles and tendons to relax without returning instantly to their stiff, sore or inflexible selves

Arthri-d

Arthri-d has been listed by most pharmacist and online drug stores sites as being a general type of health supplement, and something that can assist in joint pain management. The company website focuses on the products benefits, mainly in relation to what it can do for arthritis sufferers. There is even a wonderful video to watch, making claims that the product can relieve pain in fibromyalgia, gout and arthritis. It is a very well orchestrated site, easy to use and very professional. An FAQ, joint health type tips and customer testimonials make it appear like the perfect solution to arthritic pain. However, the product is falling short in one area, something that customers are hoping to see because they have hunted everywhere for a good product and tried almost everything out there on the market, the area of clinical type trial back up. This is especially concerning for some arthritis sufferers as the site claims that this product has top-rated ingredients. How can that be?

Regardless of whether or not you are desperate enough to take a chance on a product that has not yet been tested is up to you, but its sales technique definitely is a winner with the claim about superior types of ingredients being its sole reason for such high prices. Interestingly, the product has to come directly from the company that manufactures it, only available it seems by calling in the order. The website even fails to give the visible price of the arthri-d supplement, though a thirty to ninety day guarantee for a refund is posted for those who purchase it.

When you get the product, the label goes into each ingredient in fine detail. It uses a blend of hyaluronic acid, boswellia, glucosamine, chondroitin and turmer. It also includes vitamins D3 and C, as well as magnesium. Take twice a day, two capsules each time, it claims.

The bottom line is that arthri-d should work because the ingredients contained within it are natural ingredients that have been proven to by studies to help in dealing with the inflammation and pain of arthritis and related disorders. There is no doubt that the product’s website is being honest about the effectiveness of the ingredients and the 100% money back guarantee and natural claims are 100% true. Unfortunately, because the cost is not provided visibly, the amounts of each ingredient used in combination with the others has not been formally tested and orders are required by phone, many people are still finding concerns. So, the product sounds great, but the price not being posted makes it hard to determine if you are getting good quality for your money. Regardless, your final decision should be a joint one, made with the advice of your doctor first and foremost.

Artrosilium

Artrosilium is a product that has been used to help people with arthritis in a more positive and useful fashion. Its major ingredient, organic silica, a natural element, assists you by absorbing iron, magnesium and calcium in a better fashion. Most importantly, it benefits your bone growth and development, thus being a vital component for helping your bones and joints to heal whilst you recover from the damage done through arthritis diseases and disorders.

Other products use the same element, but do not have the desired effects because this product has two other ones that are important herbs, including a herbal type of analgesic aspirin, Queen of Meadow, which relieves any pain without harming your health, and blackcurrant, a long recognized arthritic type of remedy, helps to combat arthritis by reducing the inflammation. However, though there are no major scientific studies that have been done regarding this product, people are finding it reliable and safe. With so many products claiming to be as effective, it is sometimes difficult for people to recognize with of the products are for real and which are frauds. Luckily, more and more people are doing their research to find out what ingredients do and as such people buy this product because they know what the ingredients do and that they will work in some shape, form or another for their arthritis.

People try many products before landing on the right one, this one. Desperate to find a cure, frustrated with feeling the pain and worn out from the exhaustion brought on by prescribed medications, many people are searching far and wide for answers. When they finally try this product, the effects on their joint inflammation and pain is noticeable. However, this product may not work for everyone and never claims to do so. It works well when combined with existing medical treatments recommended by your doctor and only when combined with healthy and active lifestyles.

Artrosilium is effective and with diet and lifestyle changes can make an incredible difference in the quality of your life whilst living with arthritis. However, regardless of what everyone says, always check with your doctor before taking this product in case of other medical issues that you might have or potential clashes in existing medicines.

Arthritis Gloves

Are arthritis gloves just another fad from the imaginations of someone with good intentions? Or, are they really helpful in treating arthritis? Well, these gloves are used as a heat therapy to give temporary pain relief. They have been designed to keep joints warm, offering evenly distributed compression to help reduce the discomfort and pain of arthritis in hands and fingers.

The gloves are made of an outer type of fabric that allows the hand to grip without slipping. The closure can be adjusted for the perfect fit and comfort. Most importantly, the thermoskin within the glove helps to increase the ligaments’, tendons’ and muscles’ elasticity, reducing any risks of injuries when the hand is strained or under duress. The gloves have been proven to assist in the improvement of the surface temperature of the subcutaneous and surface levels of the skin, increasing them by as much as two to three degrees. This allows for the optimum temperatures for the muscles and tendons to become that much more elastic and pliable, providing the top level of muscular function. The lining consists of a series of small and soft type spirals which stimulate your skin, helping to create enough heat for optimum healing to take place. The tiny fibers take moisture away, leaving the skin dry and soft, whilst the knitting type process keeps the air within to let the skin be properly ventilated. It in a sense recreates a micro climate that is ideal for the skin to remain oxygenated and ventilated for many hours of long-term wear.

The arthritis gloves are an innovative and unique product that is making it easier for people with arthritis of the hands and fingers to enjoy simple treatments that are both natural and affordable. Not only do the gloves use science to make enable the healing process of damaged joints, muscles and tendons, but keep the hands from getting stiff, enabling them to enjoy more mobility and flexibility. Best of all, these arthritis gloves can be found through most major arthritic foundation stores and online pharmacists. They are no pricier than a good quality pair of ski gloves, making them one of the most affordable and good value for money products out there for arthritis today.

Arthritis Research

What type of arthritis research is being undertaken? What are the findings and what hope is there of a cure? There are numerous research projects being undertaken worldwide to aid in finding a cure for arthritis, as well as delving into the potential causes and possible treatments that could one day make life easier for sufferers or even provide a permanent end to their suffering.

Presently, many arthritis sufferers have volunteered for studies and research projects. Some are assisting with finding positive ways to aid arthritis sufferers whilst they work. Others are looking at the development of arthritis management programs for aboriginal people in North America. A pilot study is currently underway to see if giving MRIs early would better help prevent the onset of osteoarthritis due to early diagnosis. Further studies are being taken to further clarify the positive relationship between physical activities and the ability to remain mobile and help reduce and prevent arthritic hip pain. Other research is looking into the health risks, as well as health care needs of those who care for people with scleroderma and lupus.

Grants have been awarded recently to doctors to undertake varied new arthritis research. One such project that will help greatly includes the study of how certain antibodies related to lupus affect the dendrite cells within the body. Another is researching how T cell type responses can be controlled in respect to immunity. In the UK, a recent study produced positive results for the use of yoga exercises in relation to rheumatoid arthritis. In fact, this past month, UK scientists have done substantial research into finding the specific gene that is responsible for causing lupus in some people. They are also starting new research to verify and find out which nutrients and foods really do help treat arthritis. They are looking at the potential of distress of the skin as being a major cause of osteoarthritis.

Arthritis research is happening across the planet, being funded mainly by major foundations and proving that scientists have not given up hope of finding cures, the causes and other factors that lead to the start and ending of the family of arthritis diseases and disorders. Though the research studies have been going for decades, each finding brings experts one step closer to more permanent and hoped for solutions.

Arthritis Cream

Arthritis cream is usually put on the skin in the areas around your joints. Many of these creams can be bought over the counter without a prescription and offer an effective, soothing and relieving means of dealing with muscle pains and low levels of arthritic pain. In fact, many contain menthol, capsaicin and salicylate, effective ingredients for treating arthritis.

There are seven major arthritis cream products that you should make yourself aware of. However, not all of them are guaranteed to relieve your pain, especially if your pain is severe enough to require pain killers. They can at least reduce any swelling which will aid in preventing some of the pain that you feel.

Top creams for arthritis that you can buy without a prescription include the following products:

  • Zostrix – reduces substance P levels, a substance known to quickly transmit pain to your brain, but when you apply this cream to your skin on and around the joint, it can reduce that pain substantially, but only for mild arthritic pain

  • Bengay Arthritis – provides only temporary type relief for your muscles and joints when you experience minor pains, but nonetheless is a tried and tested product that has been around for many years

  • Aspercreme – provides only temporary pain relief for muscle sprains/strains, backaches and arthritis on a low level

  • Icy Hot – a two-fold formula that adds ice to kill the pain on contact with the skin and hotness to get deep inside and relax muscles and joints, lasting for a considerable amount of time for minor joint, muscle, back and other pains, mimicking the hot and cold treatments recommended by many doctors

  • Sportscreme – provides a temporary, but fast means of relieving stiff, strained or sore muscles and painful joints

  • Tiger Balm – an ancient Chinese remedy that works so well when used for minor joint pains, muscular aches and even migraine headaches, but is best applied to the skin and left on the surface to soak in, having a little cold water added on top and then exposing the painful area with the balm to a very cold environment which helps the balm to start working rapidly

  • Mineral Ice – provides temporary and quick relief of joint, muscles and other minor pains with a cool and greaseless type of gel that penetrates deep with the joint and muscles

Arthritis Exercises

Are there any arthritis exercises that you can do to help with your pain and swollen or stiff joints? Actually there are, but you might be confused by those who tell you that arthritis and exercise generally do not go together well. However, what people fail to realize is that damaged joints need all the support that they can get to avoid further damage and degeneration. By getting proper and appropriate exercise, the muscles around the joints can be prevented from deteriorating because of inactivity and they can be strengthened to the point whereby they help to support the body as part of the supportive system that the joints normally would provide for by themselves. So exercise for arthritis sufferers is important.

Many people find that after exercise that their joints become less stiff and as long as they undergo moderate, regular exercises, the pain is managed and they rebuild their endurance levels and ability to remain flexible. Exercise is ideal for reducing any joint inflammation and helps to reduce any risks associated with other related and chronic types of disorders and conditions. Additionally, it may assist in promoting your overall fitness and health, improving your self-esteem, lowering any depression or anxiety, keeping your weight under control, letting you sleep more soundly and much better and most importantly giving you more energy that you would otherwise not get when suffering many arthritic conditions. Plus, when you exercise, other health issues are kept at bay, even prevented, such as heart disease and the debilitating arthritic disease called osteoporosis.

If you suffer from major pain, swelling and stiffness in your joints, the last thing on your mind is feeling more discomfort and if you are unfit, unfortunately you will need to battle that in order to reduce it and prevent them from being so severe or happening at all. Most importantly, you must remember that you have to start off with a slow and fun activity without over doing it to gradually ease your joints into moving about more. Flexibility type exercises are the first step to begin with. You can stretch and increase your mobility daily. Your second step is to start gentle weight training, adding in endurance type exercises such as long distance walking and cycling, but ever so gradually until you are fit enough to handle more.

When you start arthritis exercises, get your doctor to recommend you to a physiotherapist who can advise you on how to start, which exercises to do and what to do to cope with the pain and discomfort in the early days. Your doctor will also get you to drink plenty of water because the water will help keep you joints buoyant, increasing your motion range and rebuilding the strength that your joints have lost. You might wish to try such exercises as water walking, yoga and others found listed on most arthritis foundation websites.

Arthritis Diet

There is an arthritis diet available that will help you gain back some strength and keep the symptoms from getting worse too quickly, though there is no guarantee that it will be in your best interests to undertake it. Your first step is to speak to your rheumatologist and go over the details of the diet to see if it will help you. You doctor may refer you to a professional dietician who can advise you on what to eat and what not to eat.

The arthritis diet generally includes foods that are high in micronutrients, avoiding anything that is not gluten-free and may even mean that you have to turn to a vegetarian diet. Depending on what your dietician recommends, your sole purpose of your diet is to keep your weight at a healthy level and feed your body healthy nutrients to help it fight off the affects of the arthritis. It helps also to supplement your skeletal system and your immune system.

Some of the main foods in the arthritis diet include green tea, salmon, cheese, bananas and others. You may have to avid tomatoes, peppers and potatoes, as well as too much salt, chocolate, red meats, preservatives, colourants, sugar, caffeine and dairy products. If you have to undergo the stricter form of the diet, your dietician will give you a strict regime to follow so you remain healthy and do not become malnourished.

Of course there are advantages and disadvantages to the arthritis diet. On the positive side, the diet is filled with healthy minerals, vitamins and other vital body building nutrients. On the negative side, the diet may not work for you as well as it does for other people. If you are not able to stick to any diet then using this diet may be very difficult for you.

The arthritis diet has been around for decades, helping many people who suffer from varied forms of arthritis and varied related disorders. However, it is not fool proof and some people simply cannot do the diet because of special medical issues or allergies. For those who try it, some people will find it to be highly successful and others, due to their chemistry, will find it will not work at all. Remember, this diet is not a replacement for treatments given to you by your doctor. It is only to be used if your doctor approves and only as a supplement to the treatments that your doctor already has you using.

Hip Arthritis

Hip arthritis is evaluated and then treated according to the needs of the patient. They may combine treatments to aid with alleviating symptoms, pain and damage done by the arthritis. In some cases, some people may have completely immobile hips and have to have the joint removed and replaced with an orthotic device to help them get around. However, hip replacement surgery is usually only done as a last resort.

One of the first things that helps with treating hip arthritis is to keep your weight in check. Doctors will get you to lose weight if you are overweight or obese because the pressure on your joints will help to aggravate the condition and realistically, the less your joint has to cope with, the less pain you will experience during regular and daily activities. Then, you may have to adjust the activities that you do. You may need to find alternative exercises and give up those that just are too difficult to handle anymore. If you are still able to walk somewhat, you might have to use a crutch or cane, held on the opposite side to the hip that is affected to decrease any additional pressure on the joint. Another factor is to strengthen the muscles around the affected joint to help lower the burden that it has to cope with and thus enable you to use muscle strength in preference to joint support. In fact, if your hip is so badly damaged or degenerated, keeping your muscles healthy is vital or they will start suffering from atrophy and gradually reduce in size and waste away.

Other things that you can do are to take any non-prescriptive and prescriptive anti-inflammatory drugs that your doctor suggests as these will stop the swelling and reduce the tenderness around your joints. Supplements to keep your hips mobile have not yet been proven as being one hundred percent effective, but with some people have been helpful, so taking supplements such as glucosamine may be an option. If at the worst you have a hip joint that is so badly damaged, you might need to have surgery. However, this is not the end of the world and will not necessarily cripple you for life. The whole purpose of hip replacement surgery is to remove unneeded and damaged cartilage and then replace the joint with an implant made of plastic and metal. It can rotate and perform all of the things that your former hip joint did and usually is easy for a patient’s body to accept.

Seronegative Arthritis

Seronegative arthritis differs from regular rheumatoid arthritis because it is mainly something seen in men versus women. There are six types of this arthritis and varied treatments that you might have to spend the rest of your life using. However, the main issue is the pain and as such there are only two types of medications available to deal with this. Otherwise, there is really not a lot that can be done to prevent it and there is no cure.

The types of seronegative arthritis include:

  • Undifferentiated seronegative arthritis

  • Ankylosing spondylitis

  • Reactive arthritis

  • Enteropahtic arthritis

  • Reiter’s syndrome

  • Psoriatic arthritis

The main treatment for seronegative arthritis includes using medications for pain and the inflammation caused within your joints. These can include NSAIDS or analgesic or pain killers, including more often than not, meloxicam. Others include DMARDS, which aid in preventing any further damage or degeneration of your joints, including quite often methotrexate.

The majority of symptoms may affect varied areas of your body and you might not get all of them, even getting just one. In fact, these can affect one or more joints, as well as related soft tissues. In some cases the symptoms may only be mild, but some people can get sudden extreme levels of symptoms without any warning. Generally, the symptoms include:

  • Lower back pain

  • Ankle pain

  • Knee pain

  • Hip pain

  • Heel pain

  • Pain in your Achilles tendon

  • Tiny ulcers on the penis, tongue or mouth which are usually not painful

  • Psoriasis type lesions on your soles or palms

  • Burning eye pains

  • Discharge of the eyes

  • Stinging or burning urination

  • The need to urinate more frequently

  • A delay in the need to urinate

  • Inflamed skin

  • Reddened skin

  • Pain in the penis

  • Incontinence

  • Swollen joints

  • Inflamed joints

  • Reddened joints

  • Burning or tingling joints

Tests may be done to find the causes of the symptoms, not ruling out other conditions or diseases. Tests can include x-rays, blood tests, MRIs, CT scans, physical exams and urinalysis. However, when it comes to treatments, it all depends on which variety of this arthritis that you get and what your person medical needs will be. At the very worst you might have to use orthotic equipment and devices to cope with getting around and maintaining your mobility. You might even undergo surgery.

Neck Arthritis

Neck arthritis is also known as cervical spondylosis disorder, the abnormal wearing of the bones and cartilage found in the neck. It is usually characterized by the chronic degeneration or wearing away of the cervical portion of the spine, as well as the cervical disks that cushion the vertebrae of the neck and joints that sit between the cervical spine’s bones. It is also possible to get abnormal spurs and growths between the vertebrae’s bones.

Such changes might over a period of time begin to compress or press down on a single or multiple nerve roots. More advanced versions involve the spinal cord, affecting the legs and the arms. Ageing is the main risk factor and as such by age sixty, many men and women will show early if not progressive signs of the disorder when x-rays are taken. Other important factors that put you at a higher risk of getting this disease include spinal surgeries, severe cases of arthritis and neck injuries that may or may not have happened only a few years earlier.

The symptoms for neck arthritis include:

  • Back of the head headaches

  • Weakness in the legs and/or arms

  • Abnormal feelings or loss of feeling in the legs, arms and shoulders

  • Worsening neck stiffness

  • Neck pains radiating into the shoulders and arms

  • Balance loss

  • Bowel and bladder control loss

However, not everyone will get every symptom and if you do then you may only get mild symptoms to start, or alternatively they may be substantially worse right from the start.

Quite often doctors will examine you physically by looking at your ability to bend your neck towards your shoulders and your ability to rotate your head from side to side. Serious signs include damage to your spinal cord or nerve roots where you are showing weakness or even sensation loss. General tests used include CT scans, x-rays, an EMG, x-rays of the neck and spine and spinal MRIs.

Treatments can include anti-inflammatory drugs, muscle relaxants, physical therapies, cortisone type injections into areas around your spine and varied pain medicines. However, it is important to note that taking care of yourself according to your doctor’s instruction can aid in avoiding back pain and the potential for surgery. However, if the pain is so severe that these methods do not work or you lose feeling or movement, your doctor will usually opt for surgery which involves relieving any pressure on your spinal cord or nerves. Potential complications can include permanent disabilities, progressive feeling or muscle function loss, urinary and/or fecal incontinence and chronic levels of neck pain. Treatments are quite diverse for neck arthritis and may include over the counter medications, therapies and having to wear a cervical collar. Unfortunately, this type of arthritis is totally unpreventable, so ensuring that you use proper techniques and equipment when exercising or using your neck is essential to reduce your overall risk.

Natural Remedies for Arthritis

There are many natural remedies for arthritis, most of which have been shown by arthritic sufferers, researchers and doctors to help reduce, treat or prevent the symptoms associated with the many types of arthritis disorders and diseases. However, before trying any of these, consult with your doctor first. They are good and do work, but only in some people and cannot be used if you have certain medical conditions or other diseases and that is why a doctor’s recommendation is essential. This list is meant as a supplementary form of information for potential remedies that might help when used alongside treatments given by your doctor. Only substitute what your doctor originally suggests with these remedies if your doctor approves.

The following are natural remedies for arthritis that you should discuss with your doctor:

  • Raw celery seeds

  • Devil’s claw

  • Epsom salts – 2 cups of salts to a full bath of hot water (not scalding) and soak for about 30 minutes
  • Feverfew

  • Ginseng liquor

  • Hop tea

  • Liquorice

  • A plaster made of mustard and applied to the joints

  • Oregano

As you can see, the types of arthritis are numerous and not everyone will ever get these. So, if you suspect that you may be suffering symptoms of arthritis, basic sore, stiff, painful and swollen joints, go see your doctor for a proper diagnosis.

Reactive Arthritis

Reactive arthritis includes a number of conditions where your eyes, urethra and joints may become inflamed. You may even suffer from lesions on your mucus membranes, as well as your skin. However, causes are unknown and usually most people will get it before age forty, especially people who have had yersinia, salmonella, campylobacter or Chlamydia. Others may simply be more susceptible due to genetic links to family who also had the disease. Young kids might get it, though rarely so, but even teenagers may experience it.

Symptoms of reactive arthritis appear usually within the days, weeks or months following those infections. If you get it, you may suffer from developing arthritis, conjunctivitis of the eyes, and a fever. Your symptoms may be mild or suddenly severe with the affected joints being on one side of your body, but it may affect multiple joints. Other common symptoms include:

  • Lower back pain

  • Ankle pain

  • Knee pain

  • Hip pain

  • Heel pain

  • Pain in your Achilles tendon

  • Tiny ulcers on the penis, tongue or mouth which are usually not painful

  • Psoriasis type lesions on your soles or palms

  • Burning eye pains

  • Discharge of the eyes

  • Stinging or burning urination

  • The need to urinate more frequently

  • A delay in the need to urinate

  • Inflamed skin

  • Reddened skin

  • Pain in the penis

  • Incontinence

Your doctor will do a series of tests and look for signs that are associated with the symptoms that you describe. However, a final diagnosis may be somewhat delayed if your symptoms come and go and only appear at specific times. Your doctor will examine you fully and look for any signs of lesions. Other tests include urinalysis, x-rays of your joints and blood tests for specified antibodies.

Treatments vary and usually include treating the infections and your symptoms. Some of your symptoms may just go away without help. You usually will be given antibiotics, pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs. Physical therapy may help maintain your muscle’s strength and keep you mobile. You will probably have to avoid back strain by avoiding strenuous work or lifting. However, sometimes you may suffer complications, including uveitis, arrhythmias or aortic insufficiency, though these are usually very rare. Otherwise, if you have reactive arthritis, it may take some months to completely go and symptoms may reappear years later, even becoming chronic.

Inflammatory Arthritis

Inflammatory arthritis is also known as systemic inflammatory disorder or rheumatoid arthritis. Usually this affects the synovial section of your joints, though it can extend to your vital organs and tissues. Excessive amounts of fluid can build up around the tissues, organs or joints, slowly destroying joint related tissues, including cartilage. You may also experience lung, sclera, pleura and pericardium inflammation, as well as the build up of nodules under your skin. As such this condition is related to your immune system.

Approximately one percent of the world’s people get this type of arthritis, usually with women being 3 times more likely to get it than men. Most people get it between ages forty and fifty, though it can happen to you at any age. The worst part is that it can be very painful and disabling, leading to potential minimization or even complete loss of your mobility and your ability to function normally. However, only a doctor can diagnose it and you will undergo x-rays, a physical exam and be assessed for varied symptoms and signs.

Treatments for inflammatory arthritis range from medicines to therapies. Depending on the nature of the destruction or damage to your joints, your doctor may choose one or more of the following options:

  • Anti-rheumatic drugs

  • Steroids

  • Anti-inflammatory drugs

  • Pain killers

  • Dietary therapies

  • Occupational therapies

  • Orthoses

  • Physical therapies

Tests may involve x-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs, and a barrage of blood tests. These blood tests check for specific antibodies, as well as other related diseases and conditions that may be the root cause versus arthritis, including hepatitis C, Sjogren’s syndrome, and lupus.

As there is no cure for inflammatory arthritis, the treatments your doctor will give you usually help in modifying how the disease is going and getting you some relief from your symptoms. Most often catching the disease earlier is best because the damage can be prevented and ensure that your mobility is not greatly affected. If it is caught in the later stages, the goal is to regain some of your normal mobility and to control severe symptoms.

Hip Arthritis

Hip arthritis is common in people who develop osteoarthritis, and can be caused by the degeneration of joints or from basic wear and tear, but at other times the reasons are not as easily known. The cartilage around your joints wears out and sometimes disappears from around your hip joints.

Usually, people over fifty will get hip arthritis, especially if they are overweight. In fact, losing weight can help reduce any symptoms that you might get with it. If there is a history in the family, that may put you at a higher risk of getting it and if you damaged the hip joint in an accident, that might contribute to it as well.

There are some common things that you can get with this, symptoms that may worsen over time. However, this does not mean that they will be progressive as many people may have good and bad times where the symptoms are affected by changes in the weather. That is why accurate accounts of symptoms vary and may make it hard to make a formal diagnosis. Symptoms include:

  • Limping whilst walking

  • A stiff hip joint

  • Motion issues within the joint

  • Pain when doing activities

To properly ascertain whether or not you have hip arthritis, you need to see your doctor for x-rays and a physical exam. These may help determine if you have it and how far it has progressed.

As far as hip arthritis treatments are concerned, your doctor may use many methods and medications to relieve your symptoms and slow down the degenerative process of your hip joint. However, not all treatments result in hip replacement surgery. Each patient is different and your doctor will define what is best for you based on your medical history, current medical conditions and what is best to help fix the hip joint issues. Currently there is no cure for hip arthritis. However, you may have to spend months or even years using anti-inflammatory and pain killing drugs to help give you some relief, and you might have to undergo certain therapies to restrengthen your joint. At the very worst, your doctor may have to put a replacement joint in the place of your hip joint to help you move and you might have to use orthotic types of devices to help you get around.

Gout Symptoms

What are gout symptoms? These symptoms are hard to mistake for anything else and can come with complications. They may be mild in some people and worse in others and not all people get every symptom. However, usually a person settles down for the night feeling good, only to wake up feeling incredible pain, usually in their big toe in the middle of the night. But that is just the beginning!

The pain that wakes you up could start like someone has thrown a bucket of extremely cold water over your joint, but very quickly it graduates to a horrific and agonizing feeling that your joint is being torn, stretched, tightened and pressurized by something unknown. Even touching the skin on the outside of the joint is excruciating, meaning that your bed sheets just brushing the joint or even someone walking nearby may make it feel bad. As the hours progress, the swelling extends from the joint to the rest of your foot, making wearing shoes impossible. You may even get a minimal fever. However, this is not the worst. It can last for up to ten days, so waiting to see if it will go away should not be left any longer than a day before you should go to your doctor for help. You will most likely get another attack within the following year and as time goes on, the attacks increase in number, lasting longer. They will begin to attack more of your joints as the years go by. Your joints may become deformed and permanently damaged. The uric acid crystals may begin building in other tissues outside of your joints, appearing as lumps of chalk beneath the skin of your outer ear, heel, elbow, toes and fingers. In very severe cases, these pyramid type lumps can create skin sores, ulcerations and even poke straight through your skin!

Generally, gout symptoms include a sudden and terrifying onset of these events in one or more of your joints at the same time – ankles, knees and the big toe. Pain can be excruciating, crushing or throbbing and starts usually at night. Your joints will feel and look red and warm, so tender that nothing can touch them, and you could have a fever. Whatever the case, do not leave this to chance and hope it will simply go away on its own because it will not. Eventually it will strike again and if you have acid crystals building in tissues elsewhere in your body, they can appear anywhere. Do not assume that this just will be limited to around the joints affected.

Gout

Gout is also known by other names, including gouty arthritis, acute gouty arthritis, acute gout, chronic gout, gout-chronic, podagra, tophi, tophaceous gout, hyperuricemia, gout – acute and gouty arthritis – acute. Regardless of the severity and longevity of your gout, it happens when uric acid crystals build within the joints. If you get the acute version, it will normally only affect one of your joints. If you get the chronic version instead, you may find that more than one of your joints is affected and you will get repeated episodes of inflammation and pain.

But what causes gout? Gout results from uric acid levels that are far too high within your body. Your body might have trouble discarding the acid. If there is too much within your body, which builds up within your bodily fluids around your joints, they will begin to form uric acid crystals, which will make your joint swell up and become very inflamed. However, just because you have these high levels does not guarantee that you have gout.

It is suspected that gout is hereditary, more often seen in men, women who have finished menopause and those who drink far too much alcohol. However, other people may get the higher than standard levels too, including people on water pills and hydrochlorothiazide. If you have leukemia, haemolytic anaemia, sickle cell anaemia, are obese or have kidney disease or diabetes, you may develop gout anyway.

Usually doctors run a number of tests and look for special signs to show that gout is present. These include analysing the synovial fluids for crystals, checking uric acid levels in the blood, doing x-rays of the joints, performing synovial biopsies and checking for uric acid levels in the urine. Treatment wise, doctors generally recommend anti-inflammatory drugs, including ibuprofen and naproxen at prescription levels for up to ten days, colchicines to reduce inflammation/swelling and pain, corticosteroids for pain which can take it away within forty-eight hours, allopurinol to reduce the uric acid in the blood, avoiding certain foods and alcohol in general, limiting meal sizes, avoiding foods containing high levels of fat, eating carbs and losing weight rapidly to avoid kidney stone production. Without treatment, though, gout can lead to chronic gouty arthritis, chronic kidney failure and kidney stones. Though it is not easy to prevent at all because the real causes are not known, avoiding heavy drinking of alcohol and enjoying a low-purine type diet may help.

Degenerative arthritis

What is degenerative arthritis? How bad is it? Who can get it? Many questions are asked about this dreaded form of arthritis, which is no surprise considering the prospects of a life spent with on-going pain, gnarled joints and the potential complete loss of joint movement. It is a fear that most of us have as we get older, but it is also shared by the very young as they too can get arthritic diseases and disorders. In fact, this type of arthritis is also known as osteoarthritis.

Such as it is, this arthritis breaks down and causes the inevitable loss of your cartilage around at least one of your joints, though arthritis usually strikes more than one location at a time. Your cartilage cushions your bones so they do not grind against your joints which serve to keep you mobile and moving about. Out of the hundreds of arthritis related disorders and diseases; sadly, this one is one that most people get. It affects about twenty million in the US alone. Most people when they age may start getting it just before age 45 and after age 55 and both men and women can get it.

Generally this type of arthritis will affect the knees, hips, spine, feet and hands, but the primary causes are not yet known. In many cases the arthritis is simply something that happens due to the aging of the cartilage as it gains water and proteins begin to decay it. In the end the cartilage will flake and form small crevasses. Joints began rubbing against the bones with a friction that can lead to limited mobility, pain, inflammation and stiffness. However, though this type is usually experienced by people who are getting older, not everyone is guaranteed to get it, or get it as severely as everyone else around them.

Degenerative arthritis is not just caused by aging, but can be the secondary result of surgery, hormonal issues, diabetes, gout, trauma and obesity. Some people may have been born with these abnormalities in their joints when they were born. Uric acid might be deposited in and around the joints, causing further problems. Some people lose their cartilage because their joints were more vulnerable from the start. That is why the reason that you might get this may not be known and you might not get it in late age, but earlier, even in childhood, though that is rare.

Arthritis Treatment

If you have been diagnosed with some type of arthritis or related disorder, your rheumatologist will suggest an arthritis treatment that is not only tailored for your specific health requirements, but the type of arthritis and the location of that arthritis. Quite often, especially with the more degenerative and damaging types of conditions and diseases, you will face a lifetime of potential surgery, information sessions, exercise programs, physical therapy and medications. The more aggressive the treatments used, the better your chances of delaying any further joint destruction, but remember that nothing comes with one hundred percent guarantees. Treatments depend on your body’s positive responses and the cooperation of your immune system.

The first type of arthritis treatments are anti-rheumatic and anti-inflammatory medicines. These include the DMARD class, such as leflunomide and methodtrexate, drugs that can have risky side effects and require that you have on-going sessions of blood tests whilst you are on them and NSAIDs such as celcoxib or celebrex, more often with ibuprofen, which can eventually have higher and higher risks of stomach bleeding, ulcers, stroke and heart disease. Another less commonly known about treatment is the use of sufasalazine or Azulfidine, or hydroxychloroquine or Plaquenil, potent anti-malarial drugs that are usually taken for a matter of months and are quite often used in the UK for systemic lupus patients to put the disease into remission. Another possible option is corticosteroids which tackle the inflammation and swelling, but they can only be taken for the short term because of the long term potential side effects. Some drugs focus on boosting and healing the immune system and are often given to those with rheumatoid arthritis, including white blood cell type modulators – rituximab and abatacept, inhibitors of tumor necrosis – certolizumab, golimumab, infliximab, etanercept and adlimumab, and inhibitors of IL-6 – tocilzumab. Unfortunately, the biological drugs come with major risks of potential psoriasis, leukemia, fungal infections, viral infections and bacterial infections.

Another arthritis treatment is surgery, though rarely used; sometimes it can help in fixing or relieving the pain associated with deformities and swollen or damaged joints. One specific type is synovectomy or the removal of your joint’s lining. You might need a joint replacement if the joint is extremely far gone and can save you from a life lacking in independence. Another final option is physical therapy, offering a range of orthotic devices, massages, electrical pain stimulations, temperature treatments, exercise and mobility exercises. Whichever one is chosen, you may end up using at least one or more of them to aid in your recovery.

Arthritis Pain Relief

Arthritis pain relief is not something that someone with arthritis can generally ignore. The irritating and nagging pressure of swollen and reddened tissues, ligaments, tendons and cartilage can make even the constant aching or shooting pains in the joints seem that much more unbearable. However, what medication you need to help will depend on what you consider to be too much pain to deal with and sometimes what you can and cannot take as far as ingredients are concerned. If you are pregnant, you may have to stop your arthritis pain relief medications all together, which as I have experienced is very exhausting and hard to cope with when you are generally tired already.

Medications for pain relief vary and some are addictive. Some may barely take the edge of the pain and others will knock you out cold for the day, which for those of us who work is an impossible scenario, but a very real one. As such there are two varieties of arthritis pain relief medications, including brand name and non-brand name or generic versions. Some can be bought from the pharmacist without a prescription, but the general rule of thumb is that the more addictive and more powerful the pain relief, the pretty well high guarantee that the medication needs a prescription. Regardless of whatever a person tells you, no matter how mild the pain, simple medications such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen and aspirin may be simply insufficient to get the job done. Most people cannot take years of acetaminophen and codeine, an over the counter high dose pain relief medicine for long without risking the chance of becoming addicted to the codeine. Some people may have allergic or intolerance reactions to some of the ingredients or develop these over time from over use of the drugs.

The top medications for arthritis pain relief are by far ibuprofen, codeine, propoxyphene, naproxen, ketoprofen and oxycodone. Usually if these still are ineffective with stopping the pain, your doctor may recommend other measures, including joint replacement surgery. They rarely like to fuse the joints which can prevent that joint from working again, but when it comes to pain relief, arthritic sufferers have few choices and so sometimes no movement is better than excruciating pain for some people.

Psoriatic Arthritis

Many people do not think of arthritis in relation to the skin, but psoriatic arthritis is a rare condition that can attack your skin, leaving you with a common problem that many people are less than familiar with. Generally speaking, the patchy redness that can spread across the body, even the scalp, usually precedes the onset of full-blown arthritis. Though the causes of this type of arthritis are unknown, many doctors believe that it might be hereditary, not surprising because most people who get psoriasis usually run a very high risk of getting arthritis at some point in the future.

So, what are the symptoms associated with psoriatic arthritis? Well, depending on your body, your symptoms may be very mild or even get so uncomfortable that you need medical help urgently. Usually they will affect your toes’ and fingers’ ends, whereas others may find the majority of it near their joints or spine when their symptoms get very severe. If the spine is involved, symptoms can include pain, burning and stiffness, quite often within the area around the sacrum and lower spine. The skin may change and symptoms may worsen. However, general symptoms for this condition include:

  • Tenderness

  • Sores on the skin

  • Swollen joints

Usually your doctor will examine your joints and skin, as well as giving you x-rays. Your doctor might suggest varied treatments, including:

  • Anti-inflammatory medicines

  • Arthritic disease modifying medicines

  • Inflammatory protein blocking medicines

  • Steroid injections into the joints

  • Joint damage replacement surgery (rare)

  • Exercise

  • Rest

  • Dietary changes

  • Cold and heat therapies

With this type of arthritis, most people only get mild problems affecting their joints, maybe one or a few of them. Some get it so bad that it deforms their spine, feet and hands. Episodes may diminish over time or increase, whether in the number of episodes or the severity of the symptoms. However, the only way to deal with the symptoms is to get a formal diagnosis and the first step is to speak to your family doctor who will refer you to a rheumatologist for further testing and a final diagnosis. Unfortunately, there are no cures and so anything that your doctors gets you to do for treatments will no doubt be something that you have to live with for the rest of your days.

Rheumatism

What is rheumatism? Though it is a very non-specific type of term, it refers to painful disorders that can affect your loco-motor system such as your bones, joint regions, soft tissues, connective tissues, muscles and joints. It may also apply to a specific condition that affects your heart valves. Most often, though, it makes reference to varied disorders, including systemic lupus erythematosus, gout, ankylosing spondylitis and rheumatoid arthritis.

This medical science includes important research centers that are found the world over. Some places have diversified to deal with specific and singular rheumatic disorders, whereas others cover a broad range of them. Unlike days gone by, the advancements made in this field are giving many people who would have once been permanently disfigured or disabled a new lease on life and a chance to avoid the damaging effects and potentially life threatening issues that can arise from a lack of good treatments and proper medicines. Though most of the disorders associated with this science are far from having any cures, the research is allowing doctors to find new drugs and therapies to take patients one step closer to realizing a cure.

Rheumatism ironically is found in most dictionaries, but the term referring to those who practice this science as doctors is quite often not, for reasons yet to be established. Many of these specialists undergo not only training in regular medicine, qualifying as general practitioners, but go on to take further training and degrees to make them experts within their areas.

If you have rheumatism, you might get a broad range of symptoms, ranging from red hot joints to painful aches in your joints. Your joints may swell and become stiff and immobile. If you have lupus, you might find your joints are not the only areas affected as the disease can attack and cause damage to any part of your body, even rendering you disabled or threatening your life. However, the prognosis for many patients needing help in this area is good and gradually improving. If you have arthritis, rheumatism or lupus, doctors have many treatments available and some unique and interesting alternatives that might shut your condition down for awhile, even for years. However, each person is different, so do not give up hope!

Rheumatology

What is rheumatology? Well, if you have been diagnosed with arthritis or any issues that affect your bones, muscles or joints, you might have to see a person who specializes in this for a formal diagnosis, tests and specialized therapies that are suited to your specific needs and conditions. In fact, doctors in this field usually handle clinical issues related to connective tissue problems, vasculitis, some autoimmune diseases, soft tissue diseases and joint problems. In essence, rheumatology is the medical science dealing with varied diseases and problems associated with the musculoskeletal system.

Of course this science is fast evolving into other medical areas with some specialists dealing with immunology or varied rheumatological type disorders. Most people who have trained in these areas are highly trained. In fact, they usually treat diseases and conditions related to the following areas:

  • Degenerative type arthropathies – osteoarthritis for example

  • Inflammatory arthropathies – varied arthritis diseases ranging from rheumatoid to septic

  • Systemic and connective tissue conditions/diseases – lupus, polychondritis, vasculitis, etc., to name a few

  • Rheumatism in the soft tissues – tennis elbow, lower back pains, etc.

  • Fibromylgia

  • Bone diseases – rickets, osteoporosis, etc.

  • Familial and congenital disorders that affect your joints – Marfan’s and Ehlers-Danlos syndromes, hyperextensible joints, etc.

When you are sent by your family doctor to your local rheumatology department or doctor, you will undergo varied assessments to formally confirm any potential diagnosis that your doctor has suggested. The consultant will analyze your medical history, the flexibility of your joints, undertake joint inspections and use varied screening techniques to help make a final and conclusive diagnosis. These can include:

  • RMSE – testing for inflammation, functions and structures within your joints

  • GMSE – testing of overall joint inflammations

  • SMSE – quick testing of functions and structure within your joints

Rheumatology is a fascinating field of medicine that allows doctors to help people whose joints are either damaged or being damaged by specific diseases or conditions. It also deals with autoimmune diseases and muscle disorders that can affect not just the immediate areas affected, but your whole quality of life. Though they might not yet have cures for many of the diseases and conditions that they treat, rheumatologists are working daily to find answers and solutions to resolve problems associated with your skeleton and muscles, as well as finding better treatments to ease, delay and even stop both painful and non-painful symptoms that you might be experiencing.

Osteoarthritis Treatment

If you have just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis, there are a number of treatments that your doctor might recommend. These can range from things that you have to do in your own time, of self-care type treatments to special medications and therapies. However, depending on what your doctor decides is best for you, these will be generally recommended based on the severity of the arthritis because this type of arthritis is extremely damaging to your joints.

Many treatments that your doctor might suggest can help to limit your symptoms, or even delay the onset of them. You might be asked to make some serious lifestyle changes, ones that you will have to maintain for the rest of your life, or at least until your doctor says otherwise. As such, if you have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis, you should follow your doctor’s instructions very carefully and if you are not sure about things, ask, because these treatments may require certain daily routines that your doctor can help you manage and organize.

The following are the most common treatments that patients such as yourself might be asked to undergo:

  • Loss of weight – quite often recommended to women with arthritis in their knees

  • Regular exercise – recommended to most people with arthritis because it helps strengthen your muscles, limiting potential cartilage growth stimulation; best activities include aerobics, strength training and motion training

  • Healthy diet – your body needs additional calcium in some cases, so you might have to take calcium supplements, as well as additional vitamins such as vitamins C, E and D, all of which help your body to digest and utilize vitamins and minerals from foods properly

  • Applied heat – sometimes applying warmed paraffin wax and soaking your affected joints in hot water (not scalding) can sometimes help reduce the pain

  • Orthotic devices – can help improve your mobility functions, or correct, prevent, align or support any deformed joints; braces, splints, orthopaedic shoes, canes, crutches and walkers might be also recommended

  • OTC medicines – varied anti-inflammatory prescription and non-prescription drugs may be given to you, including acetaminophen, ibuprofen, aspirin and other more potent arthritic drugs

Whatever your doctor gets to you to do or take as part of your osteoarthritis treatment program, sometimes it takes time to find the right ones and the right combination of treatments. Therefore, be patient and always communicate any problems or additional problems to your doctor. If you have any additional health issues such as diabetes, you doctor might give you alternative treatments instead to avoid aggravating your existing illnesses or conditions.

Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis

Unlike the common form of arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) occurs in children. It is considered as chronic disease which is usually manifested by pain and swelling in the joint. Like rheumatoid arthritis, the cause of JRA is unknown but is believed to be an autoimmune disease. This means that the body attacks its own healthy tissue thus destroying it. It usually occurs before the age of 16.Having the same symptoms, it is commonly mistaken to be lyme disease, rheumatic fever, osteomyelitis and sarcoidosis.

There are three categories of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. The first category is the systemic JRA. From the name itself, the manifestation of this category is commonly systemic. Symptoms include joint pain and swelling, fever and rash. This is known to be the least common among the other category. The next is the polyarticular JRA. This category may turn into rheumatoid arthritis. This also involves large and small joints of arms and legs and may also affect the cervical spines. The last is the pauciarticular JRA. This category involves few joints, usually the joints of the hips, kneed and ankles.

The symptoms of JRA are similar to rheumatoid arthritis. This includes morning joint stiffness, joint pain, limited range of motion, swollen and warm joints, and back pain. Systemic manifestations include high-grade fever, rashes in trunk and extremities and swollen glands. JRA may also cause inflammation of the eyes which maybe accompanied with red eyes, pain, increased light sensitivity and changes in the vision.

In order to confirm if a child has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, there are lots of test done. Physical examination reveals swollen and tender joints. Limited ROM is also evident. Skin rash, enlarged spleen and liver and swollen lymph nodes may also be seen. Blood tests may also be ordered by the doctor. Joint tap is also essential in confirming the said disease. Other test may include x-rays, ECG and eye exam.

The treatment of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis includes nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). This includes ibuprofen. NSAIDs are only used if only few joints are involved. For severe cases, it is recommended to use corticosteroids in controlling symptoms. There are also medicines that are used for patients who have JRA that includes many joints and has rash and fever. This is what they call as disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs or the DMARDs. This includes methotrexate and biologic drugs like infliximab. For severe cases, joint replacement is suggested by physicians. Non-pharmacologic treatment includes activities that keep the child active. Examples of these activities are walking, running, jogging, swimming and bicycling. Emotional support should also be given to the child. The child should also have to maintain proper hygiene, eat healthy foods, drink lots of water and have enough rest.

Causes of Arthritis

Many adults are experiencing joint pains, swelling, morning stiffness and limitation of movements. These symptoms that they are experiencing are symptoms of a joint disorder known as arthritis. Many people know about arthritis but only few have knowledge about the real cause of arthritis. The cause of arthritis depends on its types. Let us focus on knowing the cause of rheumatoid arthritis.

The cause of rheumatoid arthritis is still a mystery. It is thought to be triggered by the combination of genetics and environmental factors. It is believed by some researchers that a certain bacteria or virus is responsible for the development of this condition yet until now this statement is not yet proven. Most of the specialist also believes that rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder. When we say autoimmune disorder, it means that your own immune system attacks the healthy cells of your body. How does this happen? Once rheumatoid arthritis is starting to develop, body’s own protein is being recognized by the immune system as foreign body. If you are going to ask what protein is it, the answer would be “unidentified yet”. But what is known is that this type of protein may have genetic connection.

After this own protein has been identified as foreign, the immune system will start to respond. The lymphocytes which are part of the immune response will release cytokines and trigger the inflammation and destruction. The most part of the body that is affected by this reaction is the synovium or the membrane that lines the joints. This part is always affected in rheumatoid arthritis. The cytokines that triggers the inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis is what we call as the TNF or the tumor necrosis factor and also the interleukin-1.

Other causes or risk factors of arthritis include gender and age. Females are mostly affected by this condition compared to the males. It is also believed that women who just gave birth and are pregnant are at great risk of having this kind of disease. In terms of age, the older the person is the greater the risk of having arthritis. Also, when one women or person has the specific gene known as human leukocyte antigen, he/she is at risk of having rheumatoid arthritis. There are other factors that contribute to the development of this condition. This includes cigarette smoking and having a family history of arthritis.

In order for you to prevent this condition, all you have to do is to avoid the mentioned modifiable factor of arthritis. Also, if you have family history of arthritis and are experiencing symptom immediately call your doctor. You should also maintain a healthy diet. Exercising is also one way to prevent rheumatoid arthritis. You also need to drink plenty of water and have enough rest and sleep.

Arthritis

Arthritis and Some Conditions Related to It

Arthritis, as most medical dictionary and books defines it, is a group of conditions which is characterized by inflammation of one or more joints. It is mostly manifested by pain, swelling, stiffness that usually occurs in the morning and limitation of joint movements. Other forms of arthritis includes osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, septic arthritis and almost one hundred more conditions.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis is a systematic, long term disease that affects the joint and possibly affects other organs. Its cause is still unknown but is believed to be an autoimmune disease. Autoimmune disease means that the body’s immune system confuses healthy tissues to be foreign thus the body attacks itself. It affects women more often than men. Joints of the wrists, fingers, knees, feet and ankles are most commonly affected by rheumatoid arthritis. Non-modifiable factors that affect the severity of the illness are hormones, genes and infection. People having this kind of disease usually have low fever, swollen glands. They also lose their appetite, has a feeling of body weakness and fatigue. Another symptom is joint pain and morning stiffness which usually lasts for more than one hour. Chest pain when breathing, eye burning and itching and nodules under the skin are also part of the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

Psoriatic Arthritis

This condition is usually associated with psoriasis, a condition that causes red patches on the skin. Psoriatic arthritis’ cause is still unknown but it is considered that genes play a major role in the development of this condition. Symptoms are somehow similar to arthritis but the most affected part of the body is the end of the fingers or toes. If severe, the disease may also affect many joints and even the spine.

Osteoarthritis

The most common among the joint disorders is called the osteoarthritis. It is caused by a condition known as the “wear and tear” in a joint. This condition happens when the firm, rubbery tissue that cushions the bones which is known as the cartilage break down and wear causing the bones to rub together thus producing the common signs and symptoms of arthritis.

If the signs and symptoms of these following conditions manifest better go to your doctor and have them checked. A medical history will be taken from you, since everything about your past health, family health and lifestyle may contribute to the disease. Physical examination and other tests like joint x-ray and blood test may also be done to confirm the condition that you might have. Treatment, on the other hand, depends on the cause of the arthritis and also depends on the affected part. Another factor that will be considered for the treatment would be the age and the occupation of the patient. Most of the treatment focuses on reducing pain and discomfort rather than eliminating the cause.

Rheumatoid Arthritis Symptoms

While rheumatoid arthritis primarily affects joints, problems involving other organs of the body are known to occur. Extra – articular (“outside the joints”) manifestations other than anemia (which is very common) are clinically evident in about 15–25% of individuals with rheumatoid arthritis.

Signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis may include:
• Joint pain
• Joint swelling
• Joints that are tender to the touch
• Red and puffy hands
• Firm bumps of tissue under the skin on your arms (rheumatoid nodules)
• Fatigue
• Morning stiffness that may last for hours
• Fever
• Weight loss
• Numbness, tingling, or burning in the hands and feet

The arthritis of joints known as synovitis is inflammation of the synovial membrane that lines joints and tendon sheaths. Joints become swollen, tender and warm, and stiffness limits their movement. The hallmark symptom of rheumatoid arthritis is morning stiffness that lasts for at least an hour. (Stiffness from osteoarthritis, for instance, usually clears up within half an hour.) Even after remaining motionless for a few moments, the body can stiffen.

Movement becomes easier again after loosening up. The rheumatoid nodule, which is often subcutaneous, is the cutaneous feature most characteristic of rheumatoid arthritis. The initial pathologic process in nodule formation is unknown but may be essentially the same as the synovitis, since similar structural features occur in both. In children, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, also known as Still’s disease, is usually preceded by high fever and shaking chills along with pain and swelling in many joints. A pink skin rash may be present.

Fibrosis of the lungs is a recognized response to rheumatoid disease. It is also a rare but well recognized consequence of therapy (for example with methotrexate and leflunomide). Women are affected more often than men. Renal amyloidosis can occur as a consequence of chronic inflammation. There is some evidence to suggest that if you have an inflammatory condition such as rheumatoid arthritis, you may be at a greater risk of heart disease. People with rheumatoid arthritis are more prone to atherosclerosis, and risk of myocardial infarction (heart attack) and stroke is markedly increased.

What Is Arthritis

A medical condition characterized by inflammation of the joints, which results in pain and difficulty moving. Any part of your body can become inflamed or painful from arthritis.

Some rheumatic conditions can result in debilitating, even life-threatening complications or may affect other parts of the body including the muscles, bones, and internal organs.A rheumatism of the joints, which could be any of a variety of disorders marked by inflammation, degeneration, or metabolic derangement of the connective tissue structures of the body.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis and generally affects elderly patients. Some forms of arthritis can affect people at a very early age. In many forms of arthritis, the inflammation does not go away as it should. Instead, it becomes part of the problem, damaging healthy tissues of the body.

There are more than 100 different kinds of arthritis that collectively affect nearly 46 million adults and 300,000 children in America alone. These diseases affect not only the joints but also other connective tissues of the body, including muscles, tendons and ligaments, as well as the protective covering of internal organs. The causes of arthritis depend on the form of arthritis.

A joint disease that can cause joint pain, swelling, stiffness and/or redness of the skin over the joint. Arthritis is classified as one of the rheumatic diseases. As we age, our joint tissues become less resilient to wear and tear and start to degenerate manifesting as swelling, pain, and oftentimes, loss of mobility of joints. Arthritis affects the movements you rely on for everyday activities. Arthritis is usually chronic. This means that it can last on and off for a lifetime. Changes occur in both joint soft tissues and the opposing bones, a condition called osteoarthritis.

Normally, inflammation is the way the body responds to an injury or to the presence of disease agents, such as viruses or bacteria. The cause of rheumatoid arthritis is unknown. The disease in its juvenile form often stops progressing within 10 years, but the damage may be permanent and cause further deterioration of the joints. In many people, the onset of osteoarthritis is gradual and has no serious debilitating effect in the beginning, although it can change the shape and size of bones.

Remedies For Arthritis

Arthritis is a degenerative condition that affects the joints causing severe pain and greatly reducing mobility. In severe cases and if neglected the effects can be debilitating.

Arthritis is typically associated with old age and although most prevalent among the aged it can affect almost anyone, but this it is uncommon among young adults and children. Arthritis may not be a life threatening condition but it is a dreaded condition because of the extent to which it affects your life.

Factors relating to it are fatigue, shock, injury, and exposure to cold and dampness. At times nodules may show up under the skin, around the elbows, wrists and fingers, and occasionally on the ankles. The control of this particular type of arthritis may require the cooperation of a physician, a physical therapist, an orthopedic surgeon, and often the physician who specializes in psychosomatic diseases. There are more than 100 types of arthritis. There’s osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis, psoratic arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, bursitis, systemic infectious arthritis, arthritis associated with a venereal disease and many others. The most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and gout.

Arthritis generally afflicts people between the ages of 20 and 50, but can affect all ages, even infants. The average age of onset is 47 and about three out of every five people with arthritis are under 65 years of age. Reumofan Plus Review

Well pain can be of any form starting it from physical to mental. But if one is much bothered about his or her physical pain then is the right that he or she has opted. Reumofan plus can be best described as the miracle of the decade. The most genuine product a customer can expect from a manufacturing company. Yes! It is true that it the most genuine pain killer of the decade. And if it continue to hold the market as it is holding presently, the even an illiterate would also find it much easier to speak the future that it would be the top brand in the field of pain killing medicines.

Reumofan plus is a pain killer medicine that has been promising throughout in killing pain. The fact that separates it from other pain killers in the market is that is a completely an herbal product. Its ingredients are mostly obtained from the Mexican herbs present in India and Cuba. Some of its ingredients are:

  • GUASIMA
  • HOLM OAK
  • EASTERN TEABERRY
  • CANCERINA
  • MATARIQUE
  • SHARK CARTILAGE
  • WHITE WILLOW
  • GLUCOSAMINE
  • CURCUMIN
  • VITAMIN C
  • VITAMIN E
  • MAGNESIUM
  • CALCIUM

Now it is hopefully completely transparent about the fact that it is completely herbal and obviously it won’t be having any side effects. Reumofan plus is mainly popular for curing pains caused due to ARTHRITIS, RHEUMATIC PAIN, KNEE, SHOULDER, GOUT OR MUSCULAR PAINS, DUE TO SPORTS ACTIVITY OR SLIPPED DISC. Reumofan plus is advised to take 1 tablet at every 12 hours interval, when the patient is feeling severe pain. But as he or she starts feeling better, the doses can be lowered to 1 tablet per day which is to be continued for a week or a month. Frankly speaking it is a not a commercial product that looks good in advertisement only but not in practical application. It is a genuine product that would keep you energized all through out the day and would obviously keep the pain at least miles away from one.

Reumofan Plus Side Effects

Reumofan Plus is a health supplement which has been around since the turn of the century. It is known to help combat joint pain without any of the nasty side effects that you get with normal medication. As more and more stories surface around the internet it is clear that there are many Reumofan Plus Side Effects, many of them in fact being incredibly dangerous. This article is just a short extract of some of the problems people have been encountering whilst trying to combat their arthritis.

Reumofan Plus Manufacturers claim that this is an all natural supplement, so it makes sense to discuss the natural ingredients first. The first ingredient is an extract from shell fish, which can of course cause havoc for those that are affected by an allergy to shell fish. The second ingredient is ‘Shark Cartilage’ which can cause intense nausea upon ingestion, of course however you could always counter this by eating at the same time, although you will still have to put up with the halitosis that this ingredient causes.

It has recently been discovered that the makers of Reumofan Plus may actually be lying. It has been found that many of the pills contain three ingredients which are members of the Cortisone family of steroids; Hidrocortisona, Prednisolona, and Dexametasona. Whilst these ingredients may provide you with pain relief many doctors don’t prescribe these type of steroids as they have many side effects, they certainly will never prescribe them for the same amount of time that you will be taking reumofan Plus for, which is often a period of many months.

The taking of steroids will literally start ruining your body over time. Your kidneys will become damaged and there will be a drop in your blood pressure. You will also notice that any wounds you obtain will take much longer to heal. You will also notice increased thick hair growth as well as weight gain and have many more sleepless nights.

If you are already taking Reumofan Plus and experiencing the above side effects the I suggest you stop taking it. Although not immediately. If you take yourself off steroids too quickly you will have withdrawal symptoms, this is because your body has become use to the steroids in your system and is therefore relying on them. Many people that take themselves off steroids cold turkey will notice increase swelling in their joints as well as considerable pain. On top of this many of the older takers of steroids could find their body shuts down. Consult with your GP before starting to wean yourself off this drug.

I suggest sticking with your standard pharmaceutical products, these will have been extensively tested every step of the way unlike Reumofan Plus. Whilst you may experience a few minor side effect it will have been something that your doctor would have recommend you take, so unlike Reumofan Plus it will be safe for as long as the doctor suggests. If you take a look above it seems to be a random lottery dictating whether you encounter Reumofan Plus side effects or not.
